We always looks forward to Sonny's while on vacation. Unfortunately, Sonny's is now off of our list of places to eat while visiting Panama City Beach. Both our spring and summer vacation visits left much to be desired. The food was cold and tasted terrible....More

My husband and I had a wonderful lunch. Everything was fabulous! Hubby got the ribs plate and I got a sampler plate. (I wanted to take some home!). We will definitely be back.

Again I need a rating between average and very good, this would be there. But for a chain it is almost very good. We have always had good, friendly service here, it is often crowded but we always get right in. We like the ribs...More

Good service as per usual, but the food wasn't quite as flavorful and tasty as other Sonny's locations. Not sure the reason behind that. The pulled pork was bland, and sauce didn't help as much as I'd have liked. Sides were ok. Would probably eat...More

The food was great. The service was wonderful. It was a great value. While there, you have to try the redneck eggrolls, a good appetizer,

Traveling along in Florida I stopped in for a delicious pulled pork platter with coleslaw, french fries, and garlic bread. The server could not have been better. He kept my water glass full and kept me from feeling lonely. Thanks

We ordered the family pack and that came with 3sides. We ordered okra, fries, and baked beans with barbecued chicken, ribs and pulled pork, cornbread, a gallon of sweet tea. Extra sauces and ketchup. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. The...More

If you really don't care about BBQ or value or service this is your spot! Pulled pork looks just like something my dog couldn't hold down! Food was cold and bland. The sauce? Gross. There is nothing about Sonny's that stand out beyond bad food...More

Often Freedom From Religion Foundation will receive complaints from members that a private-owned business in their area is offering a discount to customers who present a church bulletin. These “church bulletin discounts” show up as promotions at a variety of businesses including restaurants or grocery stores for anyone demonstrating their status as a believer or church attendee. These types of promotions are illegal under federal law. The Civil Rights Act states in relevant part, “All persons shall be entitled to the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation . . . without discrimination on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin.” 42 U.S.C. §2000a(a). As a place of “public accommodation,” it is illegal for restaurants, grocery stores or other businesses to discriminate, or show favoritism, on the basis of religion. Church bulletin discounts are restrictive promotional practices, which favor religious customers and deny customers who do not attend church, and nonbelievers, the right to “full and equal” enjoyment of the restaurant, store or other business. Church bulletin discounts may also be prohibited under your state’s civil rights law, or your city’s municipal code and ordinances. Often, the state and local laws contain similar, if not the same, language prohibiting discrimination at places of public accommodation on the basis of religion. Any promotions should be available to all customers regardless of religious preference or practice on a non-discriminatory basis. No place of public accommodation can advertise– in broadcast (radio or television) or print advertisements (newspapers, church bulletins, etc)– any sort of discount to customers who present a church bulletin. Rather such promotions must be offered to the public at large, and not single out any one religious group. For example, instead of offering a “20% discount to customers with church bulletins on Sunday,” a restaurant could advertise, “20%off Sunday brunch.” If you come across a business that is offering a church bulletin discount, you should approach the manager, owner or a supervisor to alert them to the illegality of the practice. You also have the right to ask for the same discount! If you need further assistance to stop this discrimination, please contact FFRF. It is helpful if you forward us a copy of the coupon or advertisement and provide the name and address of the discriminating business. Written by Rebecca S. Markert, FFRF Staff Attorney

I agree with Mike M. from Kentucky. It doesn't seem you are asking any question, just trying to impose yet more religious restrictions (of God) in this country. I commend any restaurant who gives a discount for this, yet I... More

In 1968, we were just a local BBQ joint in Gainesville, Florida. Today, we're still a local BBQ joint. We just happen to be in a few more locations. But we still do things the same way Floyd "Sonny" Tillman and his wife, Lucille, did back then. We still slow-smoke over oak for up to 12 hours at a time. We still serve generous portions. And we still believe people should be able to go out to eat and feel right at home.
