I lived in Japan for 14 years, and really miss the mom-and-pop laces that serve the basics...donburi, katsu curry, tempura, etc. This place has it, and it's good.

I just returned from a trip to Japan and wanted to find a local Japanese restaurant. After a quick search, Aki restaurant seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. The restaurant located in a partially abandoned strip mall delivered on the quality and taste of food. I had Nabe in Japan and wanted my wife to try it.... More
If you are in the neighborhood stop in this Sushi and Japanese food restaraunt. It is humble to look at but the food and prices cant be beat. Favorite with expat Japanese.
We came, we saw and we ate. Our drinks were served swiftly, and we (two adults and two teenagers) were presented with soup and a nice salad off charge. The main course was delicious. The quality of the food is really great. Especially the moist of the rice was just perfect. We all went for sushi, and shared three different... More
Our family had a nice sushi dinner at this family run Japanese restaurant. Don't be alarmed, most of the shopping center is vacant. The sushi quality was good and fresh. They best part was the pricing was very reasonable. You'll save a lot of money and get equal or better sushi compared to the big chains. We felt they could... More
Don't be fooled by the way this place looks--it's in a practically deserted plaza and it is very small. The sushi is fantastic! We ordered the sashimi and some assorted rolls, including the Rainbow, Spider, Philadelphia and Spicy Tuna (which was hot--good hot!). All were delicious and fresh. Our server was very nice and our food came out quickly. We... More
I have to say I went to visit this place after someone at the hotel recommend it to me. At first I was very skeptical since the place is in a run down Plaza. I have to say the food was good. It's a very small place only sits like 25-30 ppl tops but the food was good. There is... More
We were delighted to learn that our favorite Japanese restaurant is open again!!! We have been long-time diners at this authentic Japanese restaurant which serves delicious sushi and meals. Recently, the sushi chef suffered from appendicitis so the restaurant was closed until he recovered. We have tried many of the entrees on their menu and have enjoyed going back time... More
It was a great restaurant! I went in for dinner and saw many Japanese guests which was comforting because it proved its authenticity. I tried the Beef Teriyaki which was very good. The atmosphere was nice - nothing upscale but very casual. Servers were nice and polite too. I do recommend this restaurant to people who are looking for an... More
The servers were kind but the place isn't all that clean. The table was sticky and the Rainbow row was poorly made with crab filling. I went to get a sugar pack for my Ice tea and the packets were all stained from possibly a drink falling on it. The texture of the cucumber in my sushi roll was solid.... More
