This was a surprise birthday lunch and we could not have asked for more. Staff are beyond professional. The pickup from the wharf was great. Food tasting menu was exceptional. The chefs understand textures and flavours, and are not afraid to use. This is a...once in a lifetime experience….. but I do hope we get to go again!More

6 weeks in Australia and we had a good meals, but visiting Berowra was very, very special. Pickup from the pier to restaurant gave a cozy start. You feel welcome just entering to restaurant. Smiling staff, beautiful view. We were ready to dinner. Did not...look at menu, wanted to be surprised. Each serving was very, very exciting in taste and look. Wine pairing made our evening very memorable. After 3 hours we were like in heaven. Very international. Thank you.More

We wanted a memorable experience and we were not disappointed. The scenery is beautiful with the setting very relaxed. Our degustation menu was cooked to perfection and celebrated Aussie ingredients. Having eaten at Clare Smith's Oncore last year I can confidently say the cooking is...on par with the 3 hat epperience. The service is less relaxed than some fine dining venues but given the setting this was not out of place. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have dined through such a incredible experience.More

Seriously, it doesn’t get better than this. The service was welcoming - from the ferry ride across the river and back, and all the staff encountered between- great and friendly service. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and very engaging. But the food??? Every course was...absolutely magnificent. Well priced, stunning value and a genuine treat.More

we were gifted a coupon from our daughter for my birthday, so my husband and i attended. The food was very bland, very sweet and very small potions for the cost. $260 per person with $60 over, we had 6 oysters at the very beginning...(they were probably the best thing on the menu AND over priced) hubby ordered a bottle of wine and i an Old Fashioned (not too good but nicely presented) totaling over $700. The best part was the little boat taxi trip.More

Some great flavours and a lovely outlook. Unfortunately very cold and we shivered through a very expensive dining experience. Even the deserts were all icy cold. As a result left with a bad taste in my mouth. I was looking forward to a great meal...but unfortunately can’t recommend this one.More

Our first visit to Berowra Waters Inn was the most enjoyable experience. From the moment we stepped onto the ferry boat to get to the restaurant we were made to feel welcome. The ferry boat captain was engaging and welcoming. The restaurant itself provided a...birdseye view of Berowra Waters and the aquatic traffic passing by. Almost all tables are adjacent to the windows providing for a picturesque dining experience. Our hosts were warm, informative and attentive. The food was amazing. from the opening snacks (a beetroot parfait macaron "burger") right through to coffee and petit fours were spectacular. Our favourites were the delicate crab (not on the menu but obviously a diner favourite), scallop with nashi and cucumber, and the chicken, corn and mushroom - packed full of flavour and such a unique dish. Desserts were light and tasty to end the dining - a perfect end to the afternoon. We had a lengthy drive ahead of us after lunch, so instead of doing a wine pairing, we chose a few drinks from the wine list. The cocktail list is short, but the Lamington Milk Punch is a must! And if you want to finish dessert with a sweeter option, the Dutschke Pedro Jiminez was delightful. Our sommelier knew his stuff, chosing and explaining wines for us effortlessly to match with our food. All in all, we could not fault this experience. Everything about it made our day so enjoyable. Even a 2 and a half hour drive each way to/from the restaurant was forgotten, the trip home spent recounting the wonderful food we had just experienced. We will gladly return here, which reading this morning has held the highest of awards for 42 years! Thank you Berowra Waters Inn.More

So we spent $674 for two people but we were sat at the back of the room watching people who were paying the same price as us looking onto the river having a lovely time with water views. We booked two months ahead. Be careful...people. You could be desperately dissatisfied and disappointed. I asked about our crappy table and I was allowed to go to the front of the restaurant after the sun went down only to look at a black window.More

Not fine dining just pretentious degustation with classic wine pairing. Don’t even bother r with the deserts very mean pouring of wines at the most expensive rate waited half an hour to picked up by the boat. Wedding anniversary was offered post card with a...$20 discount next time from a $760 dinner for two first and last time. Better places who care and deserve support to patronise.More

My partner and I booked for dinner for birthday and 10th anniversary back in Feb with Berowra Waters Inn as it is beautiful location away from the city and an ideal location for celebration with view to enjoy as they claimed in their bio. We...booked weeks in advanced, got email confirmation, a call 3 days before to reconfirm the booking and our dietary preferences, also an email reminder a day before our dinner reservation. We were so looking forward to this. After 2 hours drive in a windy rainy Friday with after work traffic on the road, we realized we might be 5-10 mins late for arriving to the wharf to take a boat ride to the restaurant, so we called them 20 mins before our reservation time, and they told us “ our restaurant is not open today, there is no one working in the restaurant “ and we were shocked and didn’t know how to respond, then I asked “ we are 10 mins away and driving all the way to the special venue, what should we do now “. Someone on the line just said “ I don’t know what happened “. She obviously didn’t know what to do and we understand a lot of hospitality venues struggling with finding right people to work. Then I said can I have someone knows what is going to call me back. 5 mins later, Daiva from reservation called back and said the restaurant is close tonight as they don’t have staff working and the person who called us 3 days in advance to reconfirm the booking supposed to let us know the booking will be CXL instead. We were even more speechless but we were calm as we know they couldn’t magically give us something on that spot. However, I hope venue like them ( far location from everywhere ) could provide contingency plan same as when hotels overbooked, they communicate with other hotels nearby to walk their guest to other hotels upon checking. So, how many fails in one reservation from online booking, email confirmation, phone call to reconfirm, reminder email a day before and customer to find out the booking was CXL whilst driving 2 hours to the special venue. She tried to move our booking to other dates, however it is a special venue people needs a long drive to get there and it was booked occasionally for birthday and anniversary. We reached out via Instagram again ( please notice that we reached out to them again, not they found out and notified customer what has beem done wrong !! ). Victoria replied us and explained that they work with a remote reservation company that was the mistakes from, she said she was going to have a chat with reservation team and email us again with follow up actions. She never emailed or called us. I texted them via Instagram again 3 days after and she told me the same thing that she would email. She never emailed, either. As customers perspectives, booking a dinner occasionally in a location where requires a lot of efforts to get to on a rainy Friday evening, turned out there were multi-mistakes since the reservation, reconfirmation, reminder of booking, and on the day, customers found out how bizarre it was while we were outside after 2 hours drive. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere to call and understand what was going on and any other options they could provide. Most importantly, they knew they made mistakes BUT NEVER FOLLOW UP ! It was too memorable for my birthday and our anniversary celebration.More

This venue is top notch. The food and service is world class, nothing could be faulted. We landed a chopper not far from the restaurant the staff were so accomodating in arranging our pickup. The food was absolutely amazing, creative & full of flavour. Between...my partner & I we had quiet a few dietary requirements, the chef catered to these perfectly. We will definitely be back to try the new menu.More

Casual elegance is the first impression upon climbing the stairs and entering this wonderful dining space. A light filled room with a wall of louvered glass looking out onto the river and the dense forested growth on the opposite bank. The welcome was warm and...professional and the service just kept on impressing until the moment we [sadly] departed. The food is quite simply incredible with the creativity shown by the kitchen quite extraordinary. The pace of the meal was perfect, the presentation of every plate a sight to behold. Sitting facing the river, watching the flow of the river and the activity of the boats coming and going was completely relaxing and mesmerising. Obviously this isn't an inexpensive experience but one that I encourage you to do if you can. We hope to be fortunate enough to visit again. Quite simply of of the best dining experiences that I have ever had.More

This was my third visit to the Berowra Water Inn. The first visit was in 1979 a couple of years after it was opened but still a work in progress. Then the experience was memorable with owner and super chef Gay Bilson coming around and...chatting to each table (a nice touch) and when we asked if we could sit outside on weathered tables under old umbrellas (could have been the staff break area) we were told we couldn't be served there, but anyway we were with our cups of coffee frequently topped up and a refreshed supply of chocolates. Needless to say the food was exceptional, and I was hooked as a foodie. The second visit was in January this year, with the outside area replaced with a outdoors eating area for less formal snacks. It was still nice but the warmth had gone. The latest visit was recently (after lockdown) and things had gotten worse. The friendliness and warmth had completely vanished, the staff were overworked and found it hard to keep up. The sommelier was pushing some very average Victorian sparkling wine (when were looking for a nice prosecco of champagne), and the food was good but clearly no wow!!! moment, and no really memorable dishes, and certainly not worth the $200 price for a six course menu. Even the boat driver seemed to be trying too hard in his name dropping. When the snack area opens again we might go for an afternoon outside but the dining room falls down in too many areas, service for the price being the main one, and a lsck of really wow food.More

Took the Water Limousine’s Sydney boat from Church point to the Berowra Waters Inn, took just under an hour to get to the restaurant. Didn’t expect the glass of complimentary wine which was a real treat! We had the degustation menu and wines, it was...an awesome experience with top notch customer service from both companies. Highly recommend!!More
