We stayed at Silver Palms RV Resort and I asked one of the "snowbirds" what restaurants they would suggest. Lightsey's was #1 on everyone's lips and for good reason. The place is so very interesting. We were seated in an area where fish and wildlife adorned the walls above the tables and booths! The food was delicious and the menu... More

My wife and I were heading back to Jupiter former the west coast of Flat. We wanted to eat lunch somewhere and decided on Lightsey's based on reviews. We were not disappointed. Coming from the east coast I was super surprised at the selection of fresh saltwater seafood. Tile fish, black bass, sheepshead, flounder and a few more I can't... More

Lightsey's far exceeded our expectations from the moment we walked into its funky interior and discovered an impressive seafood market. Who would have expected such a selection in Okeechobee?? I was thrilled to discover Golden Tile on the menu! It was seasoned perfectly & lightly grilled -- Golden tile's taste & texture can't be beat! My meal included wonderful hush... More

Four entrees, pompano, triple tail, shrimp, and something else and a gator bites appetizer. My take on everything I tasted .. 1. gator appetizer: tasty, lightly breaded, chewy (alligators are made of tough skin and muscle therefore "chewy" comes with the territory). 2. Pompano: a new taste for me and I did not like it 3. Triple tail: also a... More

I was a bit nervous about checking out the new Lightsey's after reading some of the recent reviews. I am so glad we did. I am not an Okeechobee resident and have not been to the restaurant in it's previous location, so don't have anything to compare it to in that regard, however this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. My... More

We have dined at Lightsey's each time we have visited friends in Okeechobee the past three years. This visit at the new venue was a sub-par experience. After being seated quickly, we waited an inordinate amount of time for someone to acknowledge us and take our drink order. It turned out the bartender was waiting on our table. She was... More

Have been to the new location several times now. It gets worse every time. I had to review this time. Went with a party of 7. Had to get a server from inside to pay any attention to us. They ran out a items to prepare one of their specials for the evening. We ate in 3 shifts, because obviously... More

Oysters, hush puppies were pretty good. The rest of our meal was cold, and flavorless. Waitress only came twice. We have frequented this restaurant for over 15 years, and this was beyond disappointing.

Thank you for reviewing us! We are sad to hear your food was not up to the Lightsey's standard that we are famous for. This is unacceptable and as a company we have pinpointed the exact scenario and are taking care of it internally. We have a zero tolerance for bad service and bad food here at Lightsey's. After our first experience here we decided to try ahain. Same experience- NO SERVICE! We waited 15 minutes for a server to take our beer order. The beer showed up about 15 minutes later. We told the server that we'd look over the menus for a few minutes. We drank our beer & she NEVER returned. We left cash on... More

Thank you for reviewing us! We have pin- pointed the exact event and are taking care of the situation to make sure this never happens again. Bad service is not tolerated at Lightsey's and there is a zero tolerance policy for such occurrences. Our prices reflect the price of local produce and seafood we encounter locally.
