This has been my local place for seafood for years and I always ask for the same table outside. And always have the Cobia ceviche Although technichally on Lincoln road this is away from all the hustle and bustle and being a local (now) I can appreciate it. The service and food in my experience have always been outstanding. Let's... More

Overall we had a good meal, certainly not amazing but we were pleased with the quality and value. My shrimp dish needed some more seasoning but the shrimp were cooked perfectly. I was not a fan of their house wines so I stuck to a diet coke and my husband a beer.

What used to be a culinary destination, when in South Beach,Miami ,is no longer so. Last dinning experience ,if not a disaster ,was not what used to be. Exorbitant prices for what ended up being standard fish dishes. Although the service was still impeccable there was not communication/coordination between waitress and kitchen.A few entrees were brought to the table and... More

Came here for a lovely dinner with my local friend. A quiet dinner outside on terrace. We enjoyed salads and pasta and crudo! Overall very good if maybe a bit bland but I would come back.

We found the server/bartender to be very attentive, food was great but overpriced. I think had we not have dined so late where there were less people, I would have probably felt very uncomfortable because of the high brow clientele this restaurant can attract, left us feeling a bit out of place when we didn't order the most expensive wine... Altamare was always a reliable seafood restaurant we enjoyed visiting a few times each year on Lincoln Road. We went there for Valentines Day when to our surprise every other restaurant in the area was booked. Upon arriving we were pleased to see they had renovated. The place looks great! Honestly, though I never recall thinking the previous decor was... More

It used to be one of our favourite restaurants, however on our most recent visit we realized that the owner and staff changed. The place looks much better but the food was bland. There were a few items on the menu that only after we ordered they informed us they are not available. The octopus was served as a very... More

Things change, such is life. The Altamare did change, too. New owners, new staff. We kept positive and went there anyhow. First, staff did not know what the day soup was. Then we ordered but were told 10 minutes later " sorry but yellow is out". Petit filet poivré sounded good but tasted mediocre with no trace of pepper. Sorry... More

The carpaccio is to die for, and I am a carpaccio coniseur. Was here with a friend and the service and food made our evening memorable. Excellent service, the staff was very friendly, accomodating, and nothing was too much trouble. We will definatly be back.highly reccomend

Description
The best restaurant in South Beach for fresh and healthy seafood, featuring a beautiful ambiance, live music, and Daily Happy Hour Drink and Sushi Specials EVERYDAY 5pm-7PM! If you're looking for a relaxing, sophisticated, and refined dining experience in the heart of South Beach you will love Altamare! The restaurant recently had a complete renovation and is under new ownership and management, so the pictures here do not do it justice. Open until 1 AM, it's the perfect place to go to after shopping or a movie on Lincoln Road. It's right across the street from the movie theatre on Lincoln Road and Alton Road, next to Haven. The Octopus Appetizer and Daily Lobster Specials are among favorites, and the Primavera Pasta Apple Pie Dessert for vegetarians. Altamare is a hidden gem on Lincoln Road, far enough from all the chaos but close enough for all the fun.
