On our last day in Miami, my boyfriend and I wanted to try some Cuban food. We picked this place based on Yelp reviews. When arriving, there was plenty of seating, so we were just informed us to take a seat wherever we'd like. As soon as we were seated, the waiter came up and just started speaking Spanish to... More

It's never been like this. Poor service. Poor food. Slow! Walked in to have to wait to be seated while the restaurant was half empty. They would simply pass by and not acknowledge us as if we were invisible. Taking the order took forever and getting the bread , appetizers and food was another long wait. Food was stale and... More

Went for Cuban delights, pastelitos, empanadas, cafe and croquettes. Their croquettes are exceptionally delicious and if in the area well worth stopping in just for it.

I've been coming to Islas Canarias for years, as I live nearby. I'm always recommending it to others. I was born and raised Cuban, though I've lived in the Miami for 55 years, coming at the age of 7. I know what Cuban food should taste like. Hands down, their croquettes are the best in town (though I didn't try... More

Islas Canarias originally opened its doors about 40 years ago on the corner of NW 27th. Avenue and 3rd. Street. From the start their claim to fame and to this day are the "CROQUETAS", no one makes these CROQUETAS like Isla Canarias and for CROQUETA lovers their is no other choice. Overall their Cuban Food and Sandwiches are fantastic and... More

We were a group of 4 and then later 2 adults and a toddler joined us. The waiter was pleasant, however, I have had better service. The croquetas were tasty, the black bean soup was very good, as were the Plantanos Maduros. a couple of people ordered Grilled Skirt Steak (Churrasco), and crispy fried Plantains which were good. I had... More

My wife and I dined at Islas before our flight out of Ft. Lauderdale after attending a wedding this month, and the food was delicious! I had the carne asada al vino and it was honestly the BEST pot roast I have ever tasted in my 31 years! It was succulent, rich, and creamy, and it paired well with the... More

This is a great place, the food is amazing. Is always full, but is a big restaurant with plenty of space. The croquetas are the best ones in Miami.

I'm in that area every Saturday morning I have stopped by several times to get a cup of Coffee. You have about 5 people to take care of the customers each time I would need to beg for service. I do speak a little Spanish I'm always being overlooked by these servers. They do not acknowledge people of color (... More
