Welcome to Midway Cafe & Coffee Bar - a must-stop Islamorada restaurant and shopping spot! We are a funky little cafe, bakery, coffee shop and retail store located in Islamorada, midway down the Florida Keys. We make our baked goods on site and serve fresh roasted coffee. At Midway Cafe we pride ourselves on using fresh high-quality foods in all of our dishes. We have an extensive menu to choose from including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes. We were staying in Islamorada for a few days so our granddaughter could visit the College of the Keys in Key West. Our last day on the island we wanted to try something different for breakfast and we certainly weren’t disappointed!! We were warmly greeted as we entered, were given menus and told to order at the counter, have a seat inside or outside the restaurant and our meals would be delivered to us. The restaurant has a clean, refreshing feel and is painted with bright pastel colors. Even old dressers were repurposed and painted, and had everything one would need for their coffee. Our food was quickly delivered and the portions were very generous and nicely plated. Our party had entrees that included a breakfast burrito, sausage & egg sandwich, biscuits & gravy and pancakes… everything was freshly made and piping hot when served. The cafe con leche was outstanding.
We give Midway Cafe 5 stars, but would give 10 if we could! We’ll definitely be back!

Everything we had was topic notch. Do not let the line turn you away. They have service down! You grab a menu, stand in line, order and pay, tell them your name and if you are going to be inside or outside. They deliver everything to you unless you order plain coffee They pour it right at the register! We had the avocado toast with an over easy egg and cinnamon roll. Both were amazing! Coffee and juice were great as well.

Tried Midway Cafe today for the first time for breakfast- this place is a gem!
Both of us tried omelettes and we each had a croissant that was spectacular. The quality of their food is top notch and the service is very prompt, not to mention how friendly they are.
Don’t pass this little place up! We will definitely be back.

The service and convenience to resorts was lovely. The food- don’t waste your money. The Belgian waffle was styrofoam that was clearly just thrown in a microwave. The breakfast burrito, while huge, was drowning in some kind of hot sauce.
Stick to house coffee and a muffin- you will be happier and will save a few bucks.

Aptly named as the halfway point to Kew West, this quaint little spot offers delicious breakfast and lunch choices as well as baked goods. There is a little gift shop as well. They have a great system order inside then choose your seat in or out and they will bring the food to you. Very attentive staff. Just watch out for the iguanas in the trees!

Really good breakfast in a cozy quaint cafe. Food is very good with a huge assortment of premise made pastries and baked goods. Service is outstanding; quick, friendly and appreciative. Facility is very clean. Nice experience!!

Based on reviews, my wife and I had breakfast here this morning. We were glad we did. When we arrived, there was a line of people waiting to place their orders. My immediate thought was uh-oh, this may be a while. While we perused the menu, the line moved along rather quickly and before you knew it, we were placing our orders too. We were greeted by a friendly person and explained everything we needed to know. We both ordered the favorite (bacon, eggs, cheese on choice of bread, ours was croissant), only my wife ordered without cheese. I had a black coffee and my wife ordered a cappuccino. We grabbed a table outside under some trees and waited for our orders. In very little time we received our orders from a just as friendly server. The food and service here are excellent. Which made me think about why a small breakfast and lunch place would be so popular with so many people. Besides having good food, like many do, it's the friendliness and quality of service which sets them apart and keeps people coming back to enjoy the food, the experience, and write about it.

This is a small place where you order at the register and your meal is delivered to your table inside or out. At 11 am there was a long line but it moved quickly, so we only waited 20 minutes to order. So don't get discouraged and decide to go someplace else.
The food is well prepared and they are willing to customize . For instance, they added jalapeños and onions to my scrambled egg order. On a separate visit, I had a delicious salad and outstanding lobster bisque. And the prices are very reasonable especially for the quality

If 3 1/2 stars was available I would rate that. This is a very aesthetically pleasing little restaurant. I think it really has the potential to be great. The first issue is that you have to stand in line to order and the entrance is right where the line is. This makes it awkward to be in the line and to order food. The lady that took our order was super friendly and it seemed after we ordered that the chaos was over. We sat inside at a little high top table. The atmosphere was nice. While we waited there were two people sitting right by us that had issues with their orders. Wrong items, hot coffee instead of iced, etc. When they brought our drinks my iced coffee was not iced but was hot. I told the waitress and she took it back to be remade. My husband’s breakfast sandwich basically had no cheese but when he took it back up there they told him it only looked that way because it was white american cheese. It maybe had 1 tablespoon of cheese if that. I had the avocado toast, bacon, and a key lime muffin. The toast was decent but the muffin was very dry. It had a great flavor but needed some moisture. It is a very cute place and I really hope they find a way to fix some of these issues so they can be a great place in the future!

Quaint and creative venue. Expansive food, pastry and coffee/espresso offerings. Amanda is a wonderful barista and manager. Even took time to chat with us about my special request cappuccino and the roaster they utilize (A&E in New Hampshire). Best cappuccino ever! Chocolate croissant was scrumptious. Great value and memorable breakfast. Attentive and pleasant staff.

We visited Midway Cafe twice - once for lunch and then for breakfast. While we enjoyed our lunch items (goat salad, pancakes, and breakfast burrito), we noticed there were items that were left off some of our meals. For example, there were no almonds on the goat salad (as described on the menu) and my daughter did not have the whipped cream on her pancakes as requested. Both were remedied quickly and we wonder if it was due to how busy the cafe was upon arrival.
Breakfast fared better as we arrived early and did not order items that needed to be cooked. The cinnamon roll was quite big,soft and delicious. The slice of key lime pie was one of the best that we had while in the Keys.
Staff were pleasant and helpful!
Limited seating outside so get there early as it can get pretty crowded.

I had heard a lot of positive things about this café in advance from Germany when planning and was then more than enthusiastic. Everyone who works there is so friendly, helpful and exudes a good mood. There is a wide range of food and drinks. Whether omelette, avocado toast or pancakes - everything was super delicious. The outdoor area is lovingly colourfully designed, as is the indoor area. Because we liked it so much the first time, we didn't try anything else and were there 3 days in a row.

Stopped here for breakfast on our sad trek from Key West back to the Miami airport and it was a pretty good bright spot. It is a TINY place and BUSY so while in line social distancing is not easy but in many of thee little places it's hard, you make due with what you have. It was a little confusing how it worked when you get there but basically you get in line, order at a counter and then seat yourself and they find you. The line was long when we got there but I was very hopeful after overhearing a guy tell the cashier he had been there every morning that week. We all ordered breakfast sandwiches and some bakery items to go. 3 of us also had iced coffees (I think they were called tropical iced lattes, they had toasted coconut on them, YUM!) . We got our food pretty quickly after we seated ourselves outside (social distancing of the tables was good). The portions were large and the food was tasty.

We come to Midway Cafe for breakfast every day when we’re visiting Islamorada. Everything we’ve ordered - and we’ve tried a lot - has been delicious. Egg sandwiches, omelettes, breakfast burritos, chicken sandwiches and wraps; everything is made to order, and even if there’s a line it moves quickly and the food comes out hot. Coffee drinks and smoothies are also always a hit. It’s clear when we’re here that it’s a popular spot for both locals and visitors. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and we talk about Midway when we’re home and always look forward to coming back here on our next vacation. Thank you Mandy and team - see you on our next trip! :)

Overall it looks old on the outside and I guess the food was also old. Business partners and myself were not impressed at all with the green scramble eggs. The bacon was a rubber like substance and costumer service very poor. Go to McDonald's!
