This is not a must do, but if you have a sweet tooth it's for you. The cookies are enormous @ a half-pound each so I suggest sharing. It's small, and products are made right there in front of you.

I love dark chocolate so this is def up my alley. The dark chocolate is extremely thick and the key lime pie is melds really well with the frozen chocolate. It's not too limey either, which I find to be a downfall of some... might go back tomorrow for another lol

Great environment and lovely aromas. They also have excellent iced cafe con leches! This is the perfect after-dinner pit-stop!

They are not always available, so ask when next they are making fudge. Go back then. They look like they are BIG cookies when you see them. After you eat one, you'll realize they are not. So, buy two, because when you go back for a second one, you'll likely need to ask again when they are making fudge.

The owner had a great cheerful attitude, and his desserts are awesome! We went to Better than Sex (fine dessert restaraunt) the night before, but I'm coming back too this place. They have a sign up saying "Ours is the best! Key Lime Pie", and they didn't lie. The fudge is way better than Gatlinburg Tennessee, and the ice cream... More

So we came in here to grab some cold bottled waters and a bit of A/C and walked out with a huge chocolate chip cookie that was still warm and melted all over our hands. Worth the mess.

Okay, Key West is hot. The place hops with energy. So find yourself a nice respite from the heat and visit Matteessens. It is for the sweet tooth with a nice selection of ice cream flavours and fudge. I am not sure it really cools you off but it gives one a delicious reason to get out of the sun
