Delicious gumbo, bread and boudin balls. Fun, casual neighborhood pub with excellent service. Cold beer and onion rings. Yum!!!

Great creole food. Definitely recommend the beignets and po' boys. Service is friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to go out of your way for.

My wife and I have eaten at Gumbo Ya Ya twice. It is as good as anything you would get in New Orleans. We have had gumbo, shrimp etouffee, crab dip with crusty bread, alligator tail, dirty rice and jambalaya. All were excellent, seasoned just right. I like some heat and they have their own brand of hot sauces -... More

Went for lunch with a friend who talked it up. I ordered the Voodoo burger because it was supposed to be flavored with Cajun spices. Burger was flavorless until I added hot sauce & there was more bread than meat. Fries had more seasoning. I thought it pricy for lunch. Two sandwich combos was almost $30! It took several minutes... Had a wonderful lunch with incredible service! The gumbo and other creole food was very good. The place is small, rustic and food served on plastic. Give it a try, you will be pleased and will return!

We ate here two seperate times within 2 weeks. Very good food and a great taste of NOLA. Red beans were fantastic along with the grits and shrip. Poor boys were fantastic. All of the food was very well cooked and reminded us of our many trips to New Orleans

Usually go for lunch. I feel the menu is a little hit or miss. I think I have tried most things on the menu. My go to is the sloppy roast beef po boy. Their French bread is from New Orleans and it is awesome! Definitely get a po boy. I don't care for the gumbo but you should try... More

My wife and I go to gumbo Yaya's when we crave some crawfish. They have a boil going on during crawfish season every week. Great food. The bread pudding finish off the meal perfectly. Casual dining. Tasty food.

We love going here, but today was disappointing. I'm from New Orleans, so I feel at home as soon as we walk in the door and see the decor, and smell what's cookin'. We always get the same thing, a large shrimp and oyster po-boy, dressed with light mayo and a side of gravy-covered fries. A cold Abita draft always... More

Local restaurateurs straight from New Orleans. The food is great, simple and exactly what it claims to be. I've never lived in New Orleans but have visited many times and this is as close to the real thing as I've found in Jacksonville.
