What a lovely restaurant in quite an unassuming strip mall. The proprietors ensures prompt service, keeping our water filled and checking on our needs. Service was top notch. Hardly a wait for our meals, with delicious potato pancake appetizer with apple sauce. As good as I’ve found in Europe. They have a great selection of schnitzel along with an exhaustive list of side dishes. We particularly enjoyed the spatzle and the kroketten. The pierogis (cheese and potatoes) didn’t last long and were quite nice. A hidden gem worthy of a return visit! Save room for the Apple Strudel!

Charming husband and wife duo toil away for us to get a taste of Deutschland. They’ve created a sweet, family, diner environment for sharing moments and conversation over German food that’s filling but not too heavy. My partner and I went for date night, ordered extra to heat up later and look forward to returning. 3 drinks, an appetizer, 2 entrees and dessert was $55.

We have dined here on several occasions (we are out of towners who visit FM a few times a year). We alway have the Schnitzel House on our must do list. We are never disappointed. Last nights dinner was excellent as usual. The veal was exceptional, the stuffed cabbage reminded me of my own mother’s recipe. Overall a very good dining experience. The owner/chef hand delivered our meals and was truly delighted with our positive comments. Will return again and again,

I was saddened by this experience and will not be returning. The Schnitzelhouse is for you if you like canned, bagged, frozen food(Schnitzel) warmed up!".The Schnitzelhouse is a sorry excuse for a restaurant and that is not what real German food tastes like. It is tourist-trap, pre-packaged food from cans and bags and heated up.This food is NOT authentic. Nothing on the plate was made fresh. Stick with the beer. Forget the food. The waitress arrived clearly lacking serving skills. She did not know the menu. Schnitzel was not pounded thin enough and potato salad was American style (canned) not German. Goulash soup was watery and tasted more like bell pepper soup. No broachin rolls, just store bought brown and serve. Don't wast your time coming to this place if you know German food and make it yourself.

German comfort food. Chicken fried pork. That’s how I’d describe Schnitzel. Looking for something different I decided to try Schnitzel. What better place to try Schnitzel than a restaurant named “The Schnitzel House”? The Schnitzel House is a small, well marked place in a small strip mall, easily distinguished by the black, yellow and red (German Flag) colors. Entering the place you will see a European themed mural and German memorabilia on the walls. Our server was a nice lady with a (as if you couldn’t guess) German accent. The menu was pretty uncomplicated with schnitzel as the corner piece. I ordered the schnitzel with bacon, caramelized onions, topped with hollandaise. I ordered the spatzel and potato pancakes on the side. Overall, a good meal. Certainly a stick to your ribs, hearty, dinner. The sides were done quite nicely. The pancakes were browned and thin. The spatzel reminded me of my grandmother’s home made noodles. The pork was properly cooked to a golden brown and the onions were well caramelized and sweet. The hollandaise, unfortunately was probably made from a powder and decidedly lacking in flavor and consistency. This did not ruin the dish but it didn’t elevate it as a proper hollandaise would. In closing I’d say that I would come back however it would be more like a once in a while type restaurant for me, more than a got to go destination. By all means try this place for a hearty dinner.

This place was amazing! My family (party of 6) stopped in for dinner while we were on vacation, and let me just say, we LOVED IT! I ordered the pirogies which was delicious and clearly homemade. The rest of my family ordered different types schnitzel and my mom ordered the cabbage rolls. Everyone’s plates were completely clear and everyone more than satisfied. The cabbage rolls were fabulous and melt in your mouth good. We also ordered the Apple strudel and black Forrest cake for dessert. Both were hands down the best dessert I have had in a long time. Along with the authentic and delicious food, the couple who owns and runs the entire restaurant were super sweet and treated us like family. Don’t let the bad reviews steer you away from this must stop restaurant! Couldn’t recommend more!

My husband and I have been to the Schnitzel House a few times these past 2 or 3 months, we have been there with friends & family, we were never disappointed. We love the sauerbraten, jaeger schnitzel, the goulosh and the spaetzel soup is outstanding. The owners and staff are very friendly and give their full attention. very clean nice atmosphere, what more can you ask for? We enjoy the Schnitzel House, we highly recommend it and we will be back!

We went there after reading the great reviews this place has and we were not disappointed at all!! There aren’t too many places left like this anymore. It’s a true traditional family German restaurant, all run by the couple that own it. Everything is cooked fresh when you order (you might have to be a little patient but it’s worth it). The food was fantastic, the place is super clean and the staff (2 waitresses) very friendly. I rarely give five stars, but in this case they deserve it largely. And the desserts are underrated, they’re out of this world! Great job, hopefully we will have you around many many years! The Pazmino Family.

My guy and I had a very lovely dinner! He had the Schnitzel Burger and I had the Schnitzel made with chicken. We both had spatzel and I had potato pancakes. Everything was fresh and yummy! It looks like a husband and wife team run the restaurant and they are very wonderful people. The husband is the chef and he brought out our meals himself and was just a nice personable gentleman. His recommendation of apple strudel for dessert was perfect! His wife who was serving tables was a delight. I highly recommend this place if you love or just want to try German food. We will most definitely return

The schnitzel has every possible combination of toppings that I could imagine. My husband and I went there because we happened to be nearby and we enjoy German food. We liked it so much that we went back with friends shortly after our first visit. Everything is made to order and we and our friends had wonderful dinners and great service each time. When it is very busy as it was for our first time there, the service was slow, but I believe that is because everything is made to order by one incredible chef. Please don't miss the cole slaw when dining there. It is positively delicious!

Just a quick visit to the Ft. Myers area and trying to find a place for a quick bite to eat. Saw the reviews on Trip Advisor and thought we’d give it a try, as we love German food. Location was in a bit of an obscure strip mall. Ample parking since there were many vacant storefronts. Walked in and it is a very casual and clean setting. Greeted right away by owners & felt welcomed. We ordered liver dumpling soup (a first for us!) and my teenage son enjoyed it, he had the bacon schnitzel, potato pancakes and potato kroktten. He really went on & on about how good it all was. I had stuffed cabbage, spatzle and potato pancakes. Very tasty and filling. Portion sizes were very generous (take home was enough for a second meal!) We ended it with baumkuchen (almond chocolate cake) for dessert. So delicious! Overall, a very pleasant and affordable dining experience. If we’re ever in the area visiting, we will be sure to go back as it did not disappoint!

This is our third time going to this restaurant. We are never disappointed in quality of the food and service. Four of us each had a different schnitzel and each got rave reviews. The coleslaw that they make is absolutely wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant.

The Schnitzel House exceeded my expectations. I got there early because I heard they fill up fast. While waiting for it to open I immediately knew I was at an authentic German Restaurant because as more people arrived most were speaking German. I had the Veal Schnitzel with roasted potatoes and the red cabbage it was “Wunderbar” and as good if not better than most Veal Schnitzel I had during my countless stays in Germany. My wife had the Bacon wrapped Bratwurst  with roasted potatoes and sauerkraut the entire time she kept saying, this is amazing! The German couple at the table next to us had the Schnitzel "Jäger"  which they get on the annual vacation and told me I have to try it the next. And I will in fact I intend to work my way down the menu. The service was outstanding and the owner who is also the cook managed to visit his guest and you could immediately see why the food and service is so good, as he said, “the joy I get from cooking and seeing how much everyone enjoys my cooking brings me endless joy”. Watching him work I could see the joy in his face. The entire shopping center was hit hard by Hurricane IAN as they are just miles from Fort Myers Beach the entire center was under 4 feet of water and most are still be renovated and all the exteriors got ripped up from the hurricane force winds but don’t let that stop you as the Schnitzel House is completely repaired. You need to know the restaurant will be on “Summer Break” starting JULY 9. - AUGUST 2th reopening on Thursday, August 3, 2023

If You enjoy Authentic German Cuisine, this is your go too place . They offer at least 15 different options of schnitzel one more inter than the other. Also sourbratten, the most delicious potato pancakes I've ever eaten. The entrees come with two sides, and are reasonably priced. They have a selection of German beers, and know how to pour a draft . I am always disappointed to order a draft beer and get served a flat looking beverage with no foam head. We only visit the area but on a return trip will definitely be back for more. My only negative is the strip plaza there're in is not the most attractive. At night, my first time I was a bit concerned, however it was just fine.
