We've been going to Il Paesano for special occasions ever since we saw them on the local PBS TV show that reviews restaurants. They can be a bit pricey when you toss in a bottle of their finest wine, but the food is simply divine!
During this Covid pandemic, we've stopped going out in public except on very necessary trips, so it was a pleasure to discover our friends at Il Paesano offered delivery! It was a birthday occasion, so we splurged.
Their octopus antipasto can't be beat! The Octopus is tender and grilled to perfection, served with a nice blend of peppers and heirloom tomato and fresh greens. It's my very favorite!
The entrees were superb and although we miss the atmosphere and the personal attention that you get when you are there in person, the food is still the best Italian food in town - and their home made ciabatti bread is unsurpassed!
Don't forget the tiramisu!
They used only the best in containers for delivery, all sealed tight in plastic wrap to stay warm. Top Notch all the way!

Outstanding small cozy place. Staff will go out of their way to make you feel at home.
On our walk, we dropped by for lunch. We said, “It is too bad we can’t have lunch outside.” The woman in charge (probably the owner) volunteered to set up a table outside. Her chef was preparing a beautiful Charcuterie platter that several guests had ordered. We looked in the food case and saw several items that looked good.
After our table was ready, we moved outside and had a fresh green salad; a stuffed eggplant, en eggplant rollatini and homemade pasta fagioli. Ever dish was fresh and flavorful. The bread was warm, crusty and just out of the oven to sop up the red sauce from our eggplant dishes.
I highly recommend this place for a casual lunch.

Small place. Get reservations. My wife and I shared a combination appetizer with lots of items, then an eggplant entrée, which we washed down with red wine recommended by the staff. We capped of the meal with delicious tiramisu. Friendly atmosphere.

My husband and I ate at this restaurant before the pandemic. The menu selections were very limited as your choices are based on what the server describes. We chose the gnocchi and ravioli. Both were very good; but the quality of the food and small portions were overshadowed by the high price. We had no wine, appetizers or desserts. The experience was WAY WAY overpriced. Now during the pandemic I notice that they have a take-out menu which shows LOTS of wonderful selections. If that menu was available for dine-in patrons we would have had a much more positive dining experience as there are many dishes on the menu at all different prices. Perhaps they will offer that menu in the future.

My wife & order dinner for pick up last night from this wonderful Italian family owned establishment. We are making an effort to oder from local small "Mom & Pops" restaurants during this pandemic they really need our support the make it. They also offering delivery service. Highly recommended! The food is excellent!

Nice cute restaurant - tables set up inside an Italian market. Menu had a good variety of food items. Appetizers - We shared cauliflower baked with bread crumbs and maybe some Parmesan? Would have liked a little less breading and more cheese. Eggplant stack with zucchini and mozzarella was a disappointment. Eggplant was not cooked enough and hard. Stuffed pepper was very good with cheese. For entree I had the grilled octopus (an appetizer but a large portion) which was very good. The greens and random cooked mushrooms, a couple off peppers and zucchini slices were ok. Others had the pasta with meatball and short rib. While very tasty the meatball was cold in the center. Dessert was a very good tiramisu. Overall a good meal, very nice service. I would say 3.5 stars.

Many friends have recommended Il Paesano and I finally got to try! AMAZING! The owners are so kind and friendly, the food is first class, very fresh and very authentic Italian! I had the BEST octopus and the eggplant rollatini was to die for! They have a wine room that you can pick your own wine. Reservation is required as the restaurant is small. The restaurant is inside a gourmet deli so it's very unique! Great food, great prices!

Disappointed. The restaurant was cute inside. The manager/owner and waitress were rude. The food was very good surprisingly but because of the attitude the overall rating I would give is not very desirable. It ruined the experience. The desserts were just okay, nothing to write home about. There are so many great restaurants in Fort Lauderdale where they can learn from. Change the attitude and you might have something at hand here. Restaurants are difficult enough to manage but ones with good food and piss poor attitude can ruin the experience and this one did. Beware of the $10 sharing charge even if you order an appetizer as your meal. The overall rating was a 4, thumbs down.

I drove over from Naples Florida to Fort Lauderdale because my nephew said he was going to take me to the best Italian restaurant in Florida. I laughed and was waiting to be disappointed like I am usually in Florida. I was unbelievably shocked and have to say the food was fantastic along with the service and an incredible staff. This is by far the best Italian food I have ever had in Florida and I have been here for 16 years. I am a hard critic coming from an Italian family and having the greatest foods. There is not one restaurant in Naples Florida that even comes close so this incredible food, not a joke. So if you have time and they're in the Naples area please take a trip here I promise you you won't be disappointed. I will head back there in the next few weeks with many friends oh, it's that worth it

Authentic Italian food is hard to come by in the Miami area, but we are no longer searching! This little restaurant was amazing. Seven of us had seven different meals and all were magnificent! Make reservations and go on an empty stomach and you won't be disappointed!!

We come down two times a year from NJ. Sometimes as a couple, other times with kids and grandkids... We've been coming here for probably 7 years. Each time we are BLOWN away! The food has to be the BEST Italian food I've ever had... and I'm from NJ! Osso Bucco Ravioli in a butter sage sauce was becypne outstanding! Thank you for ALWAYS proving our family with a truly enjoyable and memorable experience. You make us feel like family! Continue to amaze!

The atmosphere is cozy and homely, This is a small place that you have to make a reservation for. It is so worth it! The meal was one of the best I have ever had - and I have been to some top Italian restaurants. Some reviews may say this is costly - Noooo - This is a bargain! you can easily pay 3 times more and not get this quality. And the service, so friendly! You feel like part of the family. Everything was perfect, the Antipasti, the Entree and the Desert. I cannot say enough good things about it!

Small, so be certain to have a reservation. Appear to have dinner seatings at 6:00 and 8:00. All the dishes we had were very good, but I especially liked the antipasto shared among three.
Certainly not cheap, but the food, wine and atmosphere made it worthwhile.

What a great Italian cafe with a great variety of delicious food. The pasta fagioli soup was the best I ever had. Great Italian pastas, sauces and items to take home as well. And the service was excellent. Going back soon.
