The Rod and Gun Restaurant has been operating for several decades. Steeped in history, this gem of the Everglades is located along a river and features outstanding local cuisine . The grouper fish fingers were super fresh and tasty. The conch fritters and alligator bites are not to be missed! Well worth a visit for lunch or dinner after an... More

The atmosphere of this historic Inn is Old Florida. You truly feel as if you've stepped back in time 70 years. The food was very good and the service was great. We loved the conch fritters we had for appetizers. Be sure to arrive early as they close their doors by 9PM.

WOW what a trip back in time...this place has more character that any five other rest. The food was good and the service excellent. A "must experience" if you are in the area. Also a nice place to spend the night on a boat as we did.

We took two friends to Everglades National Park for a ride on the boat to the gulf to see wildlife. We decided to show our friends the old Florida experience.Rod and Gun Club. The old hotel and restaurant are just beautiful! We had lunch on the porch over looking the river. The fish of the day was grouper. Three of... More

We have been to the Rod & Gun club restaurant A few years ago. It was just ok. Last night our group of 12 enjoyed amazing dinners. We were very impressed. I ordered the broiled grouper. The portion was generous and so tasty. They served a side of garlic mashed potatoes, fresh squash from the farmers market and a fresh... More

Stopped there after doing an airboat tour at Captain Jack's! Nice place with terrace on the water with good selection of lunch baskets including good fried gator. You have to try that! Ask for the waitress Debbie and chat with her a little - it will add to your experience.. Just so you know: great marguarita but $9 USD ea.... More

It's a flashback in time. Awesome interiors, nice and friendly and helpful people and staff. And there's a magic bar. Every time you sit there you'll get in contact with other visitors and believe me, you'll spend a great time with them. The dinner is depending on which chef is cooking from "so, so" to very good.

My second visit, but first for my boyfriend who has wanted to see the place. We sat on the screen-in porch on a beautiful day. Service started out great, until another table of 12 people arrived and then we waited a long time for table to be cleared and to get check. Regardless, we enjoyed our grouper sandwiches and relaxing... More
