The Black Pearl never fails to impress. The atmosphere is so quaint and romantic and the food is always fabulous! The pork belly appetizer is a must!

Rack of lamb (without the suggested nut crust), with a 2013 St. Francis Zinfandel. Absolutely marvellous. We shared a tarte tatin, but next time he has to get his own - I wont be sharing...

The black pearl has excellent food and wine list - waiters are very attentive though it's not inexpensive and the dining room is small and cramped - for that kind of money you should dine with more room

Went for dinner. Filet was very good. Cooked perfectly. The beef tenderloin etoufee was too salty. The kind of salty that catches up with you halfway through the dish and you can't bear to eat another bit. They were kind enough to take it off the bill - at their suggestion. Would I go again? Maybe. Maybe not.

Place was overcrowded. Waiters seemed poorly trained and were rude and arrogant. The risotto was good but not worth the experience.

Small and dimly lit restaurant with somewhat stiff atmosphere. Service is outstanding and food is excellent. Impressive wine list, but no bar drinks, which is a major drawback.

Pros: the grouper was an excellent dish with perfectly cooked fish, and the molten chocolate cake was executed perfectly. Service was attentive and friendly. Imperfections that should not have occurred for such an expensive restaurant: No amuse bouche (most restaurants charging $35+ entrees offer an amuse bouche--BP has warm bread with herbed olive oil, good but eh); the ramen was... The tables were spaced further apart that what I'm used to in NYC, which was a delight. The food was so yummy and the waitstaff were very attentive. We hoped to go there again but didn't have the time on that trip. By the way, to my surprise, even in the nicest restaurants, many people did not dress up; they... More

My wife and I visited The Black Pearl in Dunedin, FL for the New Years Eve, December 31, 2016, dinner special. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was very romantic and comfortable, and the food was fantastic. The problem I had was the cost of the special meal at $125 per person. Looking at what we got it did not... More

This tiny restaurant in downtown Dunedin offers wonderful continental cuisine. The Lobster Risotto is to die for. The service is very professional. Good wine offerings. Great for special occasions.
