This one is a bit painful. We truly wanted so much to like this place; from the onset, it has it all: Location, fresh seafood, atmosphere, romantic setting, and more. But in reality, it did not deliver the experience we were expecting. I must say,...we have tried 3 times in the past 2 weeks to celebrate our anniversary; including noting it each and every reservation we’ve made, but have had no luck. I’m guessing now, it’s just something restaurants don’t care to do these days. As stated, this place has a beautiful setting, directly on the water, with commanding views of the marina inlet. The tables are covered in white tablecloth. The lighting is just perfect for a romantic evening. And there’s a cool and happening bar area, that makes for a nice landing spot, before dinner. The restaurant is clean, classy, and inviting. Menu wise, the seafood possibilities seem endless. Ordered the grilled grouper in wine sauce, and my wife had the roasted chicken and vegetables. The food was very tasty, and the fish was cooked perfectly. The table bread was good as well. So far, it all sounds as if we are in for a glorious night: But..... Service: Oh boy, here is where it went south in a jiffy. Our waitress took our drink orders, and said fresh bread is on the way. 11 mins later, water arrives, and we are told, “the bread is in the oven”.... 27 additional mins, the table bread arrived. From the time we were seated, until we contacted a manager to check on our food was near an hr. Shortly after, the food arrived. By then, the glass of wine was too warm to enjoy with the fish. Curiously, we noticed our waitress navigate to a “10 top” wedding party, to go along with the “12 top” she already was serving. Of course, at this point, we got left out altogether. I’m thinking our food must’ve been left back there so long, it had to be remade. The manager apologized a couple of times, and stressed he realized it was our anniversary dinner, and offered 20% off, and a free dessert: And we kindly said thank you. However, 5 minutes later, our server dropped off our bill, with no clue of any of this. There was zero communication among the staff. This was truly the worst service we can remember in quite some time. Really though, it was the very fact that we were pushed to the side, to make room for a larger party that really got to us. I will say a young lady from another area, tried to fill in and help, but by then, the evening was over. All n all, I just can’t recommend eating here at this time. Its not the atmosphere; as we couldn’t find anything wrong with the setting, or location. It’s not the food; and I’m sure most of the other items on the menu are tasty as well. But when we encounter service at the lower level, that accompany prices at the higher level, we have to draw a line at that point. Maybe it’s my fault: I had read a select few reviews before making our reservation, that touched on the below par service. But either way, if looking for a special place to celebrate that special occasion, I’d keep looking...More

We were traveling with another couple to celebrate our wedding anniversary and decided to dine at Marina Cafe because it had 5 stars. BIG MISTAKE! First, the bartender made several errors in our drink orders and then got our check mixed up with someone else's....Our reservation was for 8 pm, and we were seated shortly thereafter. From then on everything took a long time--our drink orders, bread, and salads all came out slowly, and our entrees were not place before us until 9:45. It was a long time between courses with no food in front of us. The manager was summoned. He showed a complete lack of interest, offered us another drink, which we did not want, but no apology. We were surprised when the bill arrived and no compensatory adjustments were made. While the food was good when we finally received it, it was not worth the cost or the wait.More

Sat at the bar to eat dinner. Bartenders were busy putting glasses away with no customer service. Maybe accept for the locals (I’m not sure). Our order was put in at 8:15. After continuing to ask where our entrees were they came out at 9:20....Lead bartender first comped our drinks and then ended up comping the total bill. All he asked is we take care of our server who did absolutely nothing except flirt with another server and don’t tell his manager (really?) Decent food. Terrible dining experience. Next!More

We thought we had a reservation here on a Friday night for 7 people at 8pm but they had no record. We had come all the way from SD, so they made an exception and found a table for us. Very accommodating and great service....Nice view and food was delicious. We had the grouper, the scallops, the salmon, the redfish and the shrimp. All good. Bathrooms clean and nice decor.More

Marina Cafe! Worst dinner ever! We were served our overcooked and tough pork chop entree first, our salad second and then our bread! I guess that was dessert!

We had a reservation and it took way too long...we almost walked out. Waitress did her best but the restaurant was understaffed and waiters and waitresses were helpless trying to accommodate guests with and extremely slow kitchen. Poorly managed. They overshot their coverage with reservations....We had a 10% reduction in the bill but honestly...it just wasn’t worth the time or the money.More

We had an early dinner tonight at Marina Cafe and could not be happier. We requested an outside seat (highly recommended on a nice evening) and were promptly greeted by our server Sean. Everything was perfect - service, food, drinks, view, all amazing! Highly recommend!

Had a reservation so no wait time, we had a nice view of the harbor inside. it was a little too cool to sit outside. Our server was Tyson and he was very attentive and pleasant. He insured my son's meal was dairy free (severe...allergy) and this is very much appreciated. Our meals were excellent and I was even surprised with slice of coconut pie with a candle for my birthday.More
