I really like seafood, but this place would not be near the top of my list for good seafood. Our grandkids wanted to go here, so...As far as food quality, it’s Ok, just not over the top fantastic. Our waiter did a good job, although an extra order was brought out. We shared it rather than possibly sticking the young man with the cost. (I have no idea how this restaurant treats its wait staff) Considering the total cost, I would most likely pick a non-chain seafood restaurant instead.

Empty for dinner, slow service. The empty lot should have been our warning but it was so close to our hotel that we walked there. My wife’s cocktail had almost no flavor. Server later said the bartender is used to making only their drink specials. Great. Wife’s coconut shrimp was excellent. My Trio platter was ok, but certainly not something I’d recommend. The piece of Tilapia was very small but the shrimp was good. Server was pleasant but seemed to rather chat with the other servers than wait her tables. I had to request items from other staff because our server kept vanishing. By 630pm when we left, the place was nearly empty.

We love Bubba Gumps and have visited several different locations. We almost didn’t go here because of the bad reviews, but I’m so glad we did. Our waitress (Ashlynn) was great. Our food was amazing! We waited about 30 minutes on our table, but we have waited at every single place we’ve eaten at this week. Usually much longer than 30 minutes.

This was my first and last time at this restaurant. My family and I came down here for Father’s Day and we have heard so many nice things about the restaurant but boy was it wrong, we waited an hour forty minutes and the food was horrible the server we had was awesome. We had over cooked shrimp and when we complain about it the manager went off and started being very disrespectful to my husband and I and all we did was tell him about the shrimp never wanted a discount but just to inform him to let his cooks know.

Taking in to consideration the staffing shortages, our service was actually decent. I did however sit and watch 3 Icee drinks in souvenir cups yet made and melt away into all liquid by the time the server for the other side of the restaurant came and picked them up. Our food left a lot to be desired. My food was cold (I ordered the Seafood Trio), the $7 Mac n cheese as a side was nothing more than Kraft Mac n cheese that had clearly been heated in a microwave, the kids pizza wasn’t better than that in a Lunchable. My daughter said she would have rather had Lunchable. The breading of the popcorn shrimp my mom got tasted very stale and the shrimp itself had to be freezer burnt. All in all we were not impressed and I would not waste your time if you are going for food.

We have eaten at this location and many other BG’s multiple times in the past. Tonight, we were told there was a one hour wait. We weren’t really hungry when we arrived, so we were ok with that and went to wait in the car. Ninety minutes later, we were ushered onto the yellow smiley faces by a grumpy lady who wasn’t very smiley herself. My son ordered sweet tea to drink and was told by the waitress that their tea is bad! So we both had water instead. Due to Covid, the fun atmosphere is gone. No run/stop Forest signs, no trivia with the servers (or maybe that was just our inattentive server). The menu is extremely limited, again, thanks to COVID. Our calamari appetizer consisted of a couple of hot, fresh pieces of calamari on top and some chewy, cold pieces, and a whole lot of greasy crumbs. The shrimp lovers meal was just ordinary. Coconut shrimp were overcooked. Oh, and I almost forgot, had I not flagged down the grumpy hostess, we would have eaten our entire meal with nothing to drink. Our waitress never appeared again after bringing our initial glasses of water until we were completely done with our appetizer and meal!

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary just a few days ago. I have always wanted to go and so my husband surprised me with it. However, afterwards, he felt horrible for the entire experience. We arrived at opening, knowing that the crowd on a Saturday, would most likely be heavy if we waited. The smell inside was horrible. Went to the restroom, and it was filthy. Trash on the floor, trash cans overflowing, obvious that it had not been cleaned the night before or that morning as we were there when the doors unlocked. I ordered the southern friend shrimp and was hoping that this would prove to be a redeeming quality, However, the batter was not cooked thoroughly and I could not really taste the shrimp over it. I am not one to leave negative reviews, because I know that everyone has an off day, but this was way past that. A table near by got up and left, another got credit for their entrees because they were also not as they had hoped. Sadly we never even got the chance to send my plate back because our table was not visited again until the ticket arrived. So disappointed.

Overpriced and not like a true Bubba Gumps.

If you have ever been to a Bubba Gumps before be advised that this is not the same. It’s trash. They had only 14 options on their menu and there was only two servers for the whole restaurant. This is not like the other Bubba Gump restaurants we have been to before where they play trivia with the table. The food was mushy and basically reminded us of eating at an Applebee’s.

We arrived at 7:30 not knowing they closed at 8. The hostess (not in any type of uniform) said she would put us on the wait list and if we were seated before 8 we would be served. We ended up eating at the bar so we could get served quicker. The bar tender didn’t bother to greet us, the counter was not wiped clean. After about 20 minutes we were asked what we wanted. We ordered 2 drinks and our meals. We were told my drink would take a bit as they didn’t have any clean glasses. The dishes from past patrons sat on the bar the entire time we were there. The bar tender made sure we knew he was actually the Bar Manager. Sadly we heard him vent about not having help or mixers to do his job. When our food arrived it was lukewarm at best. Considering the price of the meal the quality is subpar.

Run Forrest, run.....

We came down on vacation, and have been pretty conservative with our spending (went to Walmart and got frozen breakfast and lunch food to stock our motel fridge with). Decided to go out and eat, and decided on Bubba Gump since we've never eaten there before. Basically we spent $72 (for 2 people)...2 teas, one appetizer, and 2 dinners....the service was underwhelming, the food was mediocre at best....could have saved time and money and just went to Captain D's, and had basically the same thing for half the price. I don't know if every Bubba Gump is like this, but we won't try it again.

We had a 25 minute wait for 6 on a Wednesday night. It’s a gimmicky place that feels like a chain. Our waitress was not great, she forgot add ons, drinks were wrong, appetizer was wrong, etc. Had the crab boil which was good. Overall, not memorable. We will skip this one next trip in favor of more local flare.

Food was decent but unfortunately overpriced. Using the chain restaurant scale of rubies (the worst) to carrabbas (generally decent) this restaurant falls just above rubies in the outback-chilis range of “worked for a meal but could have cooked it better at home for much less”. Will not be going back but not the worst restaurant at the beach.

Hubby and I went for dinner this other night. He had the clan chowder and I had the seafood gumbo. Absolutely delicious! For dinner hubby had the bourbon glazed salmon and I had the coconut shrimp. Again, both were delish! We decided to share and then we both didn't want to, but everything was great. The only complaint was that the mac n cheese was very, very salty. We had been upcharged for that but they reversed the charge as we had not eaten due to the saltiness. Our server, Althea was wonderful. She was very attentive, but not intrusive . Overall a very good experience and yummy food! I'd recommend this place for sure!

Fun place to eat!

I've been to bubba Gump in other states and compared to those this one didn't quite add up. Maybe it's due to covid I'm not sure but I was a little disappointed the run forest run sign wasn't on the table. Our waitress was very nice and attentive but the food was just ok. For the price they charge I was expecting better food but I guess I paid for the atmosphere. There are some drinks on the menu that come with souvenir cups so that was a nice surprise and of course they have a small gift shop so I was able to get a souvenir t shirt. I probably won't visit again but it was nice for a one time visit!

There’s real problems at Bubba Gump’s

We aired more than an hour for a table when half of the tables we empty inside. I asked the hostess how much longer it would be and she said our table was ready and she had sent me a text message. But she put in the wrong phone number. This should have been a warning. Once we ordered the appetizer was presented promptly but our 2 drinks arrived after we finished the appetizer. Another warning. We aired over an hour for our food, which was served hot, but only for 3 of us. My wife’s sandwich ( which was shrimp & crab salad) arrived 15 minutes later. And it was mostly chopped onions and not edible. I had complained about the slow service 3 times. The server’s response was “just lots of orders going in”. But the place was still half empty. At one point she came over and asked if we would like to play Bubba Gump trivia. I was pretty angry at that point. Another table had already called for the manager. This, combined with outrageous prices, made for a terrible dining experience. Totally different from our visit last July. The spinach dip we had for appetizer and the clam shoulder were very good but the burger and chicken sandwich we just average. Bottom line, drive on down the beach
