When I’m staying in Destin (Which is usually 250 days out of the year), I honestly have to visit Shakes Almost daily. It’s that good! I’m sure they know my exact order and vehicles by now.
Twice before, I’ve even flown down from my other home in Bham, AL just to eat dinner at McGuires, grab a Milkshake from Shakes, then be wheels up at DTS within 45 minutes and have a shake in hand.
That should tell you something folks.
*Disclaimer: I have a high metabolism, thus I hardly gain weight. BUT even if I didn’t, I’d still be going there constantly. You only live once guys and the lord doesn’t care if your Fat or Skinny!

Quality product and outstanding service. I ordered a pineapple shake; they gave me strawberry shake on accident and also gave me my pineapple shake to make it right. I think I actually liked the strawberry shake better! My son also got a strawberry shake, my wife got a Reese’s concrete and my daughter got a strawberry sundae. All were delicious! I would definitely be severely overweight if we lived anywhere near Shake’s! Highly recommend!

We decided to try Shake’s after seeing many recommendations in an online group, and it did not disappoint!! We weren’t sure what to order, but i ordered some type of concoction with brownies and peanut butter. Y’ALL. it was so good! I didn’t notice much of a taste difference between the custard and regular ice cream, but it’s definitely thicker and richer. Super good!

We had a wait about 1/2 hour and we went there because on their website it stated their custard was gluten free. My oldest has an allergy, so I asked them to double check it was gluten free. They said it had gluten in it, so my daughter was very disappointed. You can't advertise that your items are gluten free when they are not. If we ordered it, my daughter would have been in severe pain. I then ordered their "concrete" mixer, but it came out like soup. Not "concrete". Go somewhere else if you can for ice cream.

First off I would like to sincerely apologize for this confusion. Our custard is 100% gluten free and all natural. Although some of our toppings such as the brownie and cookie dough DO have gluten in them. If you get just the custard, your daughter is able to consume the custard. We are going to clarify this to all our employees. As for your concrete, again we are sorry it was not as thick as it should have been. Although it is no excuse the Florida heat tends to melt out custard very quickly. We are going to work to be better for you and would love to make it up to you. So we are locals just spent almost 30 minutes waiting in line to spend $21 on 2 reg size shakes and a concrete reg, the items came to us almost completely melted especially the concrete (probably need to change the name if that’s how you choose to serve it) just a soupy nasty waste of money mess! The concrete was completely not what was ordered either missing half of the ingredients that we were so richly charged for. We like to support local as that is what we are but feel ripped off, underwhelmed and threw all of it away, nasty! Waste of money & time.... with the small treats we have right now you have to do better than that if you want locals to continue their support.

Vanilla has no taste, isn't exactly creamy either. Very disappointed. It's a walk up window and minimum seating outside. Shakes come in a few sizes, regular size with one topping will set you back about $5 bucks, Each additional topping is like 70 cents each. We were 5 people with 4 reg.size and one single cone for $32.bucks. Honestly our group did not think much of them. It's one of those once and your done things.

The ice cream was beyond amazing as always, but we will not return. After spending over $30 for our treats we noticed that one employee was not practicing proper hygiene. She was wearing gloves, but never changed her gloves. She collected money, cut up fruit and scooped custard with the same gloves on! We ask to talk to the manager on duty and one was not present. The employee assured us that what her coworker was doing was ok. Last I checked the country was nearly shut down due to Covid and money is very dirty. Why would someone even have the nerve to argue with a customer. This place should be shut down!

Don’t waste your time and money here. There are plenty of other great ice cream shops in the area. I have no idea how this place has such a good rating. It’s a no from me! Im not one to leave a negative review. However, i went here on vacation and this was probably the worst experience I’ve had at a place like this. The service was terrible. It took over 30 minutes to get my order and the 20 people who ordered after me got their desserts(and food) before I received mine. When it finally came out they tried to give me something I did not order instead of what I had paid for. (which was a payment of nearly $9 for the small size) When I DID get what I ordered the custard just wasn’t good at all. Tasted like watery milk and was honestly hard to finish. Unfortunately I do not recommend whatsoever.

It’s a wonderful gem of a place. Take out ice cream and soft serve that they make but is scooped not from a machine. I got the regular size (small) half vanilla half chocolate hot fudge sundae. I decided liked the vanilla better but both were yummy. Very generous portion. I’ll go again.

Frozen custard should have flavor on its own, but Shakes is bland. My GF got a cone and the cone tasted better than the custard. I got one of their specialty sundaes and it needed all the ingredients to make it good. It was a large serving, but a lot of OK is still just OK.

Stopped here since we were wet and had trailor that was easy to park on side road. It is a walk- up window w/ lots of dessert choices and food. Kids loved pink poodle sundae and Chicago & Texas dogs were large & very good. Nice to see friendly faces after being around unhappy water park staff all day.

Great ice cream place for family and hangout. This will definitely be my place to stop at if I ever come back to Destin. One thing I thought it was a little over price were their hot dogs and drink sizes. Their cherry limeade is not that great. Sonic’s cherry limeade taste way better. Their hot dogs was okay. Overall their ice cream were awesome. Just get their ice cream don’t get anything else lol. But it doesn’t hurt to try it.

We live near Shakes and visit it once a week . It had been closed and now we are so happy to have it reopened. Very clean love the outdoor seating and the custard is so good!
The drive up is speedy and my favorites are The Big Bopper and the Briwnue fudge concrete! They have great hotdogs too with all kinds of add one! They use the freshest berries and fruits and pecans! Love love love ❤️❤️❤️❤️Shakes next to theChickfil-a Yum

A little frozen custard restaurant with a drive-thru or a walk up window. We ordered a hot fudge sundae, a Leroy Brown, and a m&m concrete. This is frozen custard so keep in mind it melts faster than regular ice cream. This place reminds me of Andy’s Frozen Custard in the Midwest. The service was fast. Our order was wrong but not a major issue. A little pricey for frozen custard but OK for a special treat.

This place could only have one item on the menu and still be worthy of a visit. The Leroy Brown is the best ice cream I’ve had. Perfect for the end of a sunny beach day.
