First time dining there and really enjoyed the salad bar and the soup. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. Would love to try the dessert next time.

We stopped in at Cook's while passing through DeLand because we liked the look of the venue - an old structure completely renovated, that kept its charm in the process. We knew nothing about Cook's except that it advertised a buffet and "famous for soups since 1983" on the sign in front. Hubby and I aren't "all you can eat"... More

The food is outstanding and plentiful ,, The salad bar choices were all fresh and the presentation was so refreshing. The meat choices were the best and actually it looked so inviting I had a hard time deciding but ended up with Turkey and dressing ...Dessert's were abundant and Yummy I ended up with carrot cake , it was awesome

I love leg of lamb and it's not often you see it on a buffet, but here it was...and it was delicious. This place is not fancy, simple but very satisfactory

I took my grandson's here because they love buffets, however we were sadly disappointed. You only get to choose one meat and one dessert and those are not all you can eat. The food was itself was good but it was a very limited selection on what to choose.

We wanted clear up the misconception that the word "buffet" means all you can eat. Here is the dictionary's definition of "Buffet": noun 1. a meal laid out on a table or sideboard so that guests may serve themselves. 2. a restaurant containing such a counter or bar. adjective 3. consisting of food laid out on tables or buffets from... Three friends and I made a day trip to see the Stetson Mansion in Deland this morning. Afterwards, I suggested lunch at Cook's Buffet, where I've had dinner every December in conjunction with the annual choir concert at nearby Stetson University. They agreed to give it a try, and it was a big hit for all of us! Our server,... More

We had traveled up from Davie, Fl., had gone through the Stetson Museum, and were looking forward to a big "chow down" buffet experience. We had taken our kids there 20 years before, and only had pleasant memories. The main course amounts were restricted, when I took a used plate to the line they called out after me like I... More

We have enjoyed Cooks off and on for 17 year's. While we have not been here for a while we noticed that the food, still good the number of veggies on the steam table were not of the variety that there used to be. The lamb is always over done but still good. The service & the waitress were VERY GOOD... More

The restaurant in an old home, built in 1910. It has recently been restored to accentuate it's original beauty and craftsmanship. It is warm and homey, just like home. The beautiful stained glass windows are the homes original windows. The grounds are landscaped with lush green and colorful plants.
