After reading all of the reviews we decided to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. We ate off the buffet which had all of the Southern Favorites (fried chicken, pot roast, stuffing, greens, and many more items). Wife got the club sandwich...and kept saying that was the best club sandwich she has ever had. Will def be eating here again when we pass through the area.More
Stopped here on a whim while passing thru Cross City on our way home from visiting friends in the Panhandle of Florida. The parking lot was full, always a good sign. The have a luncheon buffet as well as ordering off the menu. There were...several large groups from a local correctional institution there ahead of us. The food took almost an hour to be delivered to our table after arriving. Now for the good part my BLT and fries were great and my wife's pancakes were delicious all this for about 10.00. Would definitely stop here again just not in the middle of lunch time. They had a hiring sign up and they have been a reason for the slow food delivery. All in all a great inexpensive dining experience.More
We were on our way home on a long drive that took us through Cross City, in Northern Florida and to us out-of-towners, the middle of nowhere. We were looking for a "trusted" spot to eat, like a Cracker Barrel, but finding none in range,...i looked at reviews of local places. The reviews for Taste of Dixie looked good and so we took the chance. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS DID I THINK THE FOOD WOULD BE SO GOOD THAT WE'D ACTUALLY CONSIDER DRIVING A LONG, LONG DISTANCE THERE JUST TO EAT AGAIN!
If you're within 50 miles, ignore all the other eateries along the way and go to a Taste of Dixie. Clean, wholesome, inexpensive, plentiful, and delicious!!!More
We ate here for breakfast on our way home from Steinhatchee. Grits were the best we have ever had. Biscuit, eggs, sausage patties and bacon! All excellent. The furnishings are definitely well aged, but don't let that keep you from having a wonderful meal!!
Definitely take this place in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We had dinner and breakfast here and really enjoyed. The staff is very down home friendly. You can really feel the local hospitality in this place! It's refreshing! The food was great. We had the...buffet for dinner. Ordered a great breakfast the next morning. Really, we enjoyed it all tremendously. Highly recommend this establishment for atmosphere, food, local color, and good old friendly!More
