We know this place for almost 20 years now and always loved the great location, magnificent sunset view and the good quality of the food, paired with reasonable pricing. One can dine outside on the patio, close to the marina. They have recently renovated the restaurant, and the fresh look suits it very well. The service continues to be friendly... More

From the location on the water, to the amazing clam chowder $5/cup - YUM and what a great spot! My son had grilled Hogfish with lemon caper sauce $26; I had blackened Grouper with Lemon Caper sauce $28 - it was pricey but it was AMAZING. Service was great! Steer clear of the mixed drinks and go for wine or... More

Came here for dinner with 4 others, we were seated right away outside, and had drinks in a few minutes. Our appetizers were good but were delayed enough that we were given free desserts to make up for it. For main courses, the food was great, seafood was unique, fresh and better than expected for a "shack." One dish was... More

We went here on a Thursday around 7:30. We were seated immediately by the hostess, and got a nice seat with a view outside. Smiley was our waitress and she was very good. My roommate got two dollar goose IPA in the can and I got a Sangria. We also got the crab nachos which were big and very good.... More

We came across this by chance en route back from Anna Maria Island to Sarasota - just under a bridge and with seating inside and outside - we were lucky enough to sit by the water in the sun. Local craft brewers are featured on the drinks menu, which is always a sign of a great place. Serving staff were... More

We went on a Wednesday night during high season (3/22/17) at 5:00. We were told a 20 minute wait. It was 90 minutes. This wasn't the only restaurant where this happened. Why don't they tell you it could be up to an hour instead of 20 minutes, 20 minutes, 20 minutes? Under promise and over deliver! Our waiter had been... More

Took my three sisters to the Seafood Shack for our "end of season" celebratory dinner. The Shack has opened and closed and c re-opened several times in the last 10 years. I'm happy to say that the current iteration of Seafood Shack is wonderful!! We ordered the beer battered fish and chips. Plenty of freshly prepared hogfish snapper and fries... More

We were served 1 drink, food was brought later by a runner. No sign of our server anywhere. Ate our entire meal with no drink. She never checked on us. Pretty much the worst service I've ever had. Will never go back.

This was a return visit to an old memory. The place had a few very nice updates, the staff was friendly but the food left a lot o be desired. Neither of us finished nor enjoyed our meal, even the crab nacho appetizer was horrible. Hope the new owners are just going through growing pains.
