Been eating here for years. Favorite tacos of myself and almost everyone who tries them. When we have a work party, my coworker always gets their quesadillas and they are the first thing to disappear. They have a clean, open kitchen and you can watch everyone working--or a telenovela--while you wait. Taco=tortilla+lightly seasoned meat+cilantro. Lime and hot salsa on the... More

we had carnitas, chicken and pulled pork (don't remember the Mexican name for it) tacos and the best were the carnita tacos. They were good but not great. I was expecting great. :(

This is a hidden gem , from the outside it looks like any other fast food joint but when you taste the food wow it's mind blowing the steak tostado is fantastic and the tacos at $2 each are great value

Like the other reviewers have already stated: this place is a hole-in-the-wall, the ladies taking your order and getting your food are nice (but are also interested in the Mexican Soap Operas blaring on the T.V.), it's cash only, and it's good. You can NOT go wrong with the food here - I did see some other reviews about the... More

This hole-in-the-wall, authentic Mexican restaurant, is all about the food. It's street-food and it's so home-made that you would think you are eating on the beach in Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point) in Mexico, south of Tucson. There is absolutely no atmosphere (smiles) and there shouldn't be! It's kinda dingy but not run-down. It's full of local hard-working Latinos and, once... More

I decided to stop in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. This small little restaurant in Clearwater is a hidden jewel of awesome Mexican food. The tortillas are made fresh all during the day. The dish I had was both tasty and just the right spice. The lady behind the counter was friendly and served us with a cheerful smile.... More

Recommendations were made that we visit this "hole in the wall" for its "authentic Mexican food". It was difficult to get past the lack of good air condition; dirty seating (only 3 tables to sit at, and about 6 stools at the counter); and watching the lady who made tortillas handle someone's dirty dollar bills and change then food and... Good food; horrible service. I ordered at the counter and sat at the counter under a blaring television. Three bored employees that never spoke to me. I went at noon and I was the only one there. I can see why!

As mentioned, this is an easily-passable place, in a small retail strip next to a laundromat. Short on ambience, the star is the food. Order at the counter, self-serve drinks out of a beverage cooler. It is loud and difficult to order, due to a slight language barrier, kitchen noise, a TV, and a large and tall counter separating the... More

La Cabana Del Tio is definitely a hole in the wall. But a quick Sunday lunch of tacos and a Jarritio is perfection! The tacos are $2 each (a quarter more for American style with lettuce and cheese). And they're delicious! My mother used to say a Chinese restaurant was good if you saw real Chinese people eating there. Well,... More
