I'm from Massachusetts but when I'm visiting friends in Wilmington I always come here. My favorites are the steampots.

Joe's Crab Shack has always been a favorite. However, after a visit to the next-door Children's Museum, we stopped by for an early lunch. The previous menu had a delicious mahi-mahi sandwich but apparently it has been replaced by mahi tacos. The latter were just okay. My granddaughter had macaroni and cheese, and I was surprised that it was not... More

After having a not so great experience next door at the Iron Hill Brewery, my husband and I decided to check out Joe's. The hostess immediately greeted us with a smile and asked where we wanted to sit. Then my husband asked if they got a station that was broadcasting the Orioles game, she was unsure so she went to... A lovely spot on the river, sitting out on "Joes big Dick"... It was fun The food also was very tasty, I had the fish and chips which were fantastic, and the wife had bisque soup and ceasar salad which may have been even better! Cheap fast and delicious!

All in all not my pick for seafood. Stick with average menu choices and it's like the rest of food chain restaurants. Nothing impressive.

Staff was courteous and prompt to all our needs. Really enjoyed the seafood which was filling and tasty. One of the better seafood restaurants in the Mid-Atlantic region. Only negative was the noise level. Between the very large room in which most were seated (other than outside) and voices plus the music deterred from having a quiet conversation. In addition... The food was absolute average. A bit expensive for this type of food, we had crabs, was a mess to eat. the shrimps were soggy and small. the corn was the same.

Seems like you're always having a better time than the food is good and hey, maybe they planned it that way. The staff is always very friendly. There is seafood and lots of it. If you're expecting the very best in haute seafood cuisine, pump the brakes, this is not your place. If you like seafood in a fun filled... More

Family Friendly Atmosphere which is sometimes loud and frenzied. The food is average to good. Joe's has had OYSTERS on their menu and their in house specials board since the day they opened, but they have NEVER HAD OYSTERS when I have asked for them.
