Omg, did not think it was going to be such a great experience! Family owned and operated. We ordered their guacamole. Had fresh cilantro, oh so good! I had chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. A complex gourmet sauce with dark chocolate (would never have guessed). My husband had chile's relleno, he was speechless. Would recommend this sweet restaurant.

Great Mexican food. I have been many times and have yet to be even slightly disappointed. The meals are freshly cooked and reasonably priced. When I am in Plainville, this is where I go out to eat.

This place has what I call authentic. Although small this place has the feeling of Mexican as soon as, you walk in the door. It also has a small convenience store section w/ everything you may need for Mex. home prep. Food is a little pricey but, definitely worth a try. Enjoy

El Paso is a little joint in downtown Plainville that serves authentic Mexican food. They have Pacifico on tap and plenty of Tequila! We usually have lunch there and the food is fresh-fresh vegetables, meat, and starches. The lunch specials are a great deal, fresh and large portions. The atmosphere is like a small, local cantina. The staff is pleasant... More

Went there because in the area and had a yelp coupon. As said by others, funky little Mexican restaurant with brightly embroidered tablecloths. Pretty empty at 8 pm on a Tuesday eve, with only Hispanic customers at the time, which helped make us think "authentic". The chips with salsa and the freshly made guac were some of the best ever,... This is one of those "you-lucked-out-if-you-found-it" places. Connecticut isn't exactly known for its extraordinary authentic holes in the wall, but this store-front dive is the exception. I dare you to find better steak tacos or fresh salsa and chips in all of CT.

We came because we love Mexican and had a SaveNowCT discount. The salsa was thick and flavorful, and both our meals were delicious. It was hard to stop eating when I was full. My partner had a dish with shrimp in it and he said it tasted very fresh (decidedly not frozen) and had been cooked to be flavorful on... More

This family owned and operated Mexican restaurant serves delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. The food is delicious and the service has been very good. They are friendly, courteous and willing to please, and the prices are very reasonable. They recently built a beautiful new bar area, but the rest of the restaurant could use some upgrading.
