My husband an I had a long road trip to install a sculpture for a show in Old Lyme Ct. Afterwards, starving. Looked up some local places and found Fresh Salt. Not too far from the sculpture park. At first it looked too busy, people mulling around..thought they were in line. This restaurant is right on the marina with beautiful... More

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 22 January 2017 via mobile

We dined once again in old saybrook. Nancy made us feel like family for our meal. We started with tuna triangles served as sushi. Four nice triangles of tuna tartare . I had the large cioppino with an abundance of seafood in a spicy broth. Yummy. My wife had the surf and turf special. The Maine lobster tail stuffed with... More

Prices are high, but it is a resort. The food was over the top! Floors all blended nicely. The desserts were to die for.

When first walking in, the restaurant looks like a dark, old school pub, but a few steps in you start to get amazing light and views from the windows overlooking the water. I tried a daily special sandwich with fried soft shell crab and added some truffle potato chips. Paired with a craft beer, it was an exceptional lunch with... More

Absolutely delicious! Best, most original clam chowder I've ever tasted. Each ingredient beautifully perfect. Prosciutto wrapped burrata over a melon puree like nothing I've ever had before and the colossal shrimp are appropriately described! Bartenders and staff and ambiance all just wonderful too.

We stayed at the Saybrook Point Inn and had two dinners and two breakfasts at Fresh Salt. The thought occurred to me that people from the midwest pay thousands of dollars to come east and see a scene that we took for granted at our meals. At breakfast we watched the ferry pick up passengers for Plum Island, looked out... More

Great staff, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious as usual. We had oysters on the half shell and swordfish. We are never disappointed with the food or service. We will be back

The food is amazing...Several fish and meat options. Wait service is polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. The meal is timed perfectly, giving patrons time to enjoy cocktails and apps, before serving entrees. As a special treat, I was pleasantly surprised with a fresh fruit cup, topped with a chocolate wafer and a birthday candle!

It was not a planned dinner. We drove east that afternoon from Wilton, CT. Took the scenic roads at the water edge and ended right before sunset in Old Saybrook. It was our first time at this restaurant and didn't know what to expect. Not only was the service superlative, but the fresh seafood dishes we had were excellent. Would... More
