Enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere . Large assortment of food. Attentive and kind waitstaff. Plenty of seating with wonderful outdoor views.

The Hideaway is a hidden gem in Old Lyme, CT. The food and service is consistently excellent. You can check for coupns that make it a good value too.

Met a friend for a quick lunch at the Hideaway. Had been there several times over the years, but this time was surprised how it is looking rundown inside, woodwork on door to kitchen needs refinished, carpet needed to be cleaned. Service slow. Granted they were probably short on help what with the holiday weekend just gone by. I ordered... More

This is one of those restaurants whose quality seems to change on a monthly basis. The prices are average and the food quality varies widely depending on the dish you order. The atmosphere is OK, nothing special. Kind of like an 1980s fern bar. The ladies room needs a good cleaning and an update.

My family has been going to the Hideaway for years. We stopped by after a disaster at the Hallmark restaurant on Saturday afternoon (should have gone here first)! We have never had a bad meal here and today was no different! We ordered drinks in the bar and asked the bartender if he would mind putting the Red Sox/Yankees game... More

The atmosphere was awful. Dirty walls and torn and dirty carpeting. Needs help quickly. The food quality was poor. Not what is used to be.

A very underrated place . The food was excellent and the prices were really good - if the hideaway had a major makeover it would be my go to local place for sure . The owner is nice and friendly .

We went to the Hideaway for dinner a couple of weeks ago. Two elderly gentleman were playing the bass and piano. The atmosphere was quite relaxing with their music and come to find out, one of them is 92; I nearly fell over! While the patrons are more elderly there was a sprinkling of younger people there and the bar... More

The dining room looks worn and carpet is visibly dirty. Others must be noticing because business was very slow compared to other times we have dined here. Service also poor and portion sizes smaller, too. No rolls or bread with dinners as there used to be.

My husband and I have dinner here often when we are in the area. We've never had a bad meal here, and the prices are all reasonable. We usually sit at the bar, and the service is very good. The often have a live piano player in the dining room which is also enjoyable.

Thank Lauren T
