The food was delicious and plentiful. The home made chips were fantastic. The Chef, Michael, is so talented and friendly. We couldn't finish our huge lunch so Michael wrapped up care packages for us to take home. The rice pudding was out of this world. The restaurant is is cozy and comfortable. As the saying goes, "good things come in... More

Good Mexican cuisine, best to take out rather than dine in for its quaint. My sister is obsessed with the chips and salsa there which are both homemade.

We have been eating lunches and dinner at Mexicali Rose off and on for about five years. In my opinion it's one of the best Mexican restaurants in CT. If you are looking for elegance or a romantic atmosphere, keep on looking, but if what you want is very good food at reasonable prices, this is the place. Family run.... More

Great family owned and managed Mexican restuarant. They can't do enough for their customers! The food is always freshly made, great portions and flavor. They offer wonderful salsa and homemade chips. The ambiance takes you to little place in Mexico.

Don't miss the black bean soup. The quesadillas are delicious. Every order comes with warm chips and superb salsa. The place has a unique ambience - 1950s Formica tables and chairs. Simple and simply delicious.

We always stop by for a bowl of soup. My favorite is the black bean. My wife likes the carrot soup. The chips and salsa are the best around. Fifties style tables and chairs make the visit there a trip in a time machine.

Reading the reviews on Mexicali Rose and I'm stunned. When we ate here we found the food to be not all that good. Chips and salsa were fine. I ordered a quesadilla with chicken on it, not bad but not worth going back for. My husband ordered chicken soft tacos which were horrible and tasteless. Chicken seemed to be boiled... More
