This is a typical tapas restaurant. Decent selection of appetizers and Tapas. If you're interested in the finger type food and a glass of wine this is your place. If you want to have a regular dinner this is not for you. Food is decent...More

This restaurant has several locations in CT and never fails to please. The tapas are always so good and the selections appealing. If you don't like the noisiness of the place then consider going during happy hour times when the atmosphere is a bit different....More

Great atmosphere, many tapas to choose from and extensive wine list. This is a fun place to have dinner. You'll feel happy just walking in. Ladies be forewarned, if you're date brings you here he's either trying to make a good impression or he's trying...More

Despite the well elaborated menu and balanced wine list, we found it to be Overpriced. As the restaurant gets busier with the drinking crowd, the quality of the service Dramatically gets reduced. Thus, I would recommend this place only for casual tapas while having drinks,...More

Went for early bite before a concert. Great for tapas, wine, drinks. The pulpo was a little tough or overcooked but the mussels were plentiful and very good. The shrimp and garlic although small portion was nice as was the fried calamari. Did not have...More

Our recent dinner at Barcelona was quite good! Their Tapas are always fresh and extremely tasty. One of my favorites has always been the lamb chop. mmm good. The beets are extremely tasty as well. If you go, I don't think you will be unhappy--pleasantly...More

We walked into a steam bath - heat and humidity and seated next to huge dehumidifier in the middle of the floor. We had three rounds of tapas that went from mediocre to terrible. The bacon wrapped dates were so bad that the waitress didn't...More

Traveling for business and we went here for dinner. The flavors and presentation was incredible. We ordered a dozen different tapas and everything was fantastic. Party of five and we all enjoyed the meal immensely. Service was great; attentive and polite.

Went her for dinner with my boyfriend. We love trying new tapas places so we were excited to see the great atmosphere and decor in Barcelona. The servers were nice and helpful when needed. The food was just ok, which for the fairly pricey menu...More

This is a New Haven favorite. Food is consistently good and the wait staff is amazingly attentive. Try the sangria and the calamari. Most small plates are shareable by far but don't feel bad if you don't want to.

Not as far as I know. From what I saw, I would very much doubt that the kitchen is kosher. Call them and ask.

Description
Barcelona New Haven opened in 2006 and is our largest restaurant in CT. Winner of the New Haven Advocate's "Best New Restaurant" and "Best Wine List," Barcelona is located next to the Omni Hotel in downtown New Haven just steps from Yale University. Here we have combined some of our favorite elements in a single location. A street level lounge overlooks a dining bar area with a stone fireplace. The sophisticated glass-and-steel dining room is framed by a 2000-bottle refrigerated wine cellar. The dramatic 80-seat private room is dominated by a larger than life, wall to wall, 30-foot mural of a Spanish bullfighter, and a 20-person chef's table, fashioned from a single walnut tree, borders the busy open kitchen.
