Great wine, great food...it's that simple. The menu is definitely French inspired but has something to appeal to most. A warning though, meals are rich and delectable and you may not have room for dessert. If you do however, that's ridiculously scrumptious too. Only drawback is small location and tight seating. Well worth it though :)

My daughter came Across this Franco-American gem through a google search while we were driving through CT on our way to Amherst. The food was simple but incredibly sophisticated. The service was A+ with staff that were knowledgeable and super competent. The cornbread appetizer with marrow butter was unique and delicious to the last crumb. The cheese sandwiches with or... Owner Jason infuses the entire operation with his special enthusiasm, dedication and enterprise. Go for lunch when you can visit the attached cheese shop, also the best in the area, or go for dinner and simply be surrounded by happy people and astonishingly successful pairings, combinations and tastes. (I work at Yale and have worked with Jason on wine and... More

300.00 for grilled cheese sandwiches?? Very overpriced. Way too much bread and very little cheese at this new haven bistro. Service is horrible. Had to ask several times for ice?? Really? Parking is also horrible as it is located at a busy intersection. The food here was not good at all. I've had way better food and service and a... More

Having partaken of their grilled cheese sandwiches (food truck) various times I finally actually went to the restaurant. The poutine was topped with a lovely cheddar curd. The pot de creme was one of the best desserts I have had in a long time - sweet but not too sweet as the salt cut it (I normally don't like too... More

It's a small restaurant specialize in using cheese in their dishes. Very rich and full of flavor. We thought we were there to hv a late lunch, but the kitchen was about to close, felt like I was pressured to rush to place order. The dishes we ordered were good. If I had more time to decide, I would hv... More

We had a perfect lunch experience at Caseus in New Haven. Perfect cozy seating in the basement. Also they have an outdoor dining space. Arrive at off peak times, because it is a small space, and does fill up fast. I highly recommend the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and bacon. What an amazing sandwich. Also, the cheeseburger with bacon,... More

...and not be annoyed by hipster food, i.e. "curated pickles." :) I didn't realize that there are no entrees that don't have cheese before we got there. Check with your dining companions if that's okay.
