It seems to be an authentic Ethiopian restaurant, and we saw some couples dining there and enjoying, but I would not recommend it to families with kids. The location is somewhat rough around the edges. The food is okay but not tasty or exotic, that Ethiopian bread is sour, and the portions are not generous. The kids hardly ate anything.... More

This restaurant was a Premier of Ethiopian food in Hartford and I have watched the decline over the years. If you have no experience with Ethiopian food you will probably be awed, but if you have experience, the experience will fall short.

My wife & I love Eithopian food and always order the same thing; the 5-course Vegy Injera. Stopped here on the way home after visiting the near-by Mark Twain House. The owner was convivial & his sister was in the back-house. We were extremely pleased with everything; food, service quality of the meal. Only minor hick-up was that the beer... More

Overcooked + burnt meat under a soggy mush is NOT what I expect at any African restaurant. I've eaten that dish in many other cities and never had anything quite nearly as awful as this one.

Wonderful Eritrean food. Its like being in the chef's home. A surprising find close to Mark Twain's and Harriet Beecher Stowe's homes.

Novel spices, a kind of Dhal with an Ethiopian twist, some kind of cabbage, all together with a spongy kind of bread. What's not to like? The picture associated with this place on the website shows the vegetarian entree. A hungry guy like me worried a bit upon its arrival. Will this fill me? Or will I have to order... More

Love their food! Be prepared, the service is a little slow, so good to go when you are hungry but not starving.

Food was interesting and pretty good. Parking in the lot across the street was bad when our car was towed and impounded.

Overall, I would go back because the food is interesting and tastes very good. We had a veggie sample platter #20 which has 5 different foods and the salmon in a red sauce #21, both were very good. Apparently you get a smaller version of #20 with anything you order (per the server). For the two of us, it was... More

Great food and decently priced. A nice change of pace from american food. Unique part besides the food is you eat with your hands. Service was not the best, but good enough, I was still happy. I will definitely go back.
