Very unusual because they have kept the same wonderful people working at the restaurant for many years, surrounded by beauty of the surroundings as a reminder of what rural Greenwich might have been like in the 1920's, pouring soup with dignified formality into your bowl, greeting everyone with a warm smile, forgiving sneakers and blue jeans. I can think of... More

A special place for dinner. The dining room is cozy with a fireplace surrounded by a glassed in porch for a view of the lovely grounds. Either choice you will enjoy a delicious french meal. There is a small lovely bar for a cocktail or after dinner drink.

This is a special place. Old school in a wonderful way. Pleasurable and helpful wait staff. But the main courses just weren't special, particularly the Halibut which was recommended. Strong wine list. And it is good. Just stopped short of being extraordinary, which is what you pay for.

I took my wife for dinner for our anniversary Friday night. We have been here many times in the past and always enjoyed it. It's a 5 star restaurant and you just expect everything to be perfect. It just didn't hit on all cylinders. When I made the reservation, I specifically requested a nice quiet table. We were taken to... More

This beautiful restaurant situated in a lovely inn with garden views must be the finest French dining in the tri-state area. Are party of four enjoyed a cocktail in the small and traditional home style lounge before going to our table on the enclosed terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens. Three of us each enjoyed the foie gras trio plate and... More

The restaurant is part of the Homestead Inn and has a tasteful and warm décor. It provides an upmarket dining experience, with attentive and charming service. The food is out of this world, we had lobster bisque with truffles, loin of lamb and wild sea bass, cooked and presented perfectly, with subtle and intriguing flavours. The wine list is extensive,... We were not disappointed and this restaurant lives up to its reputation. Outstanding service and wonderful food with some unique menu items such as the veal wrapped in a mushroom shell. Fantastic. Excellent services without pretense. Definitely expensive but we felt worth the cost.

Everything about this restaurant was excellent. The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated in a beautiful Inn decorated in fine American furniture from the entrance lobby to bar to dining room. Service is very professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. Since this was our first visit my wife and I asked for suggestions and our waiter was outstanding in recommending dishes and wine.... More
