This restaurant is in a beautifully kept old barn filled with old pictures and items from an era gone by. You can have your favorite drink on a large deck overlooking a pasture of grazing goats, gambling lambs and several wandering donkeys along with stately horses. And they all seem to get along ! Dinner is served in any of... More

Welcome to the Buttery... how about starting with some hot cider and a cold open wagon ride with your own guitarist playing your favorite tunes... A bit cold.. they have blankets to snuggle in. Watch the deer in the fields as your hay ride winds around the farm house and back to an amazing and enchanting evening for dinner. We... More

The Golden Lamb Buttery is an old restaurant, set in a barn on a 1,000 acre farm in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut. The drive up to the place, through the beautiful farmland sets the mood for any occasion. Drinks are served in a beautiful area with oriental carpets over the well worn barn floors with a pianist unobtrusively playing... More

Walked into an open cocktail area of the barn with piano music. It was a nice night in November so we had cocktails on deck. We then went on a hayride around the farm. Had a woman playing Guitar and singing. She also sang inside. Nice, clear night so we saw so many stars. After the hayride, we were seated... More

The food and view were outstanding and we loved how unique the atmosphere was. All the little nooks and crannies where people can eat make for a very different dining experience. The lunch is not too expensive either. The farm looks so amazing but it's hard to believe that so many people are able to find their way to this... More

It's quite a drive but worth it. You enter an unheated barn where walls are chock full of momentos, photos, and newspaper articles about the restaurant and 1200 acres of farmland called Hillandale farms. Dress in layers if you are arriving early for a cocktail and hayride. You are assigned a waitress for the evening who will start you with... More

We came for my aunt's 90th birthday dinner on October 7th. The barn/restaurant is in the countryside off Route 169. Fall colors were a gorgeous compliment to the views of stone-walled meadows, lake, cattle and sheep, horses and donkeys from the deck at rear of the barn. As you enter the wide hall, you see photos, memorabilia, antiques all around.... More

The overall ambience was fantastic! Went to a family member's wedding there. Very relaxed atmosphere and had open seating which was nice as you sat and met other people at the party. Food was delicious - the best I had in a long time!

We had my mother's 80th birthday lunch on July 17th. It was a wonderful meal - everyone was very pleased and I received many compliments on my choice. Every meal looked delicious and the iced tea was the best I've ever had. I love the atmosphere. The staff was great. The price was far less than I expected. Can't wait... More
