This used to be a wonderful restaurant. Success has obviously ruined there desire to be outstanding and they are packed due to previous excellence. Service started great but deteriorated as restaurant filled up, with us finally having to get the manager to get our check. The food was very inconsistent, 4 people having varying experiences from wonderful to cold and... More

If you love to eat well you should definitely visit this place. The portions are fairly large and they've got taste combos down to a science. I had the salmon with brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes. It also had this spicy sauce on it that was like YES. It was so good. I think I ate the whole thing. Would... More

This is the sister restaurant to Sweet Basil but is much better. Wood fired cooking produces unbeatable tastes, had the bone marrow starter which is the best starter I have had in a restarting. My pudding choice of the candy bar was so good I ordered it two nights running. Cool music in the background and a good atmosphere. I... More

We had two meals- lunch and dinner and loved both. Sat at the bar for dinner. Loved the drinks. Food was excellent. Roasted olives memorable and Moscow mule with a twist was really good.

Easily 5 starts but our waitress was aloof and inattentive. Normally I'm not one to complain but just treat us as friendly as you do every other table. First time in years I couldn't leave 20% or more. For the pros now! Drink menu is extensive and reasonably priced. Appetizers all unique and tasty. Carrot salad tasty as well salmon... More

We dined here as a couple for dinner. Nice bar with great bartenders who know how to make a drink! The service and food were very good as was the atmosphere. High energy and fun.

Absolutely love this place for lunch. Awesome burgers, sandwiches & salads with great variety of beers and drinks. The atmosphere is warm and service friendly. Dinner is good too, but on days that I do not ski, I can be found in a booth or at the bar quietly saying "Yum" after each bite!

From the creators of the legendary Sweet Basil in Vail Colorado, comes a fresh, innovative new restaurant. Aptly named Mountain Standard, this rustic and relaxed tavern aims to set a new standard in the Vail valley by using an ancient form of cooking. The majority of Mountain Standard’s menu is prepared via the most primal cooking method: over an open and live wood fire. The only restaurant in the valley to devote themselves to this age-old way of cooking, the food at this exciting new restaurant has rustic, bold and honest flavors, focusing on the purest ingredients in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.Service, like the cuisine, has that perfect balance of providing a first class dining experience with a more casual vibe. There is no smoke and mirrors here – no fuss – just simple, honest, from the heart service and cooking. The beauty of the creek side location is mirrored by the high energy vibe of this dynamic restaurant. It is this energy, outstanding service, and hand crafted food that enables Mountain Standard to offer a truly unique dining experience, approachable and enjoyable to everyone.
