Lord the help yourself chips and various salsa versions. My meal was fresh and light as far as Mexican goes. Not too greasy and laden with cheese. Staff exceptionally friendly.

I went in for a late lunch one snowy afternoon back in March. I remembered our family eating here one summer about 4 years ago and wanted some more. It was a slow time in town and a slow time at La Cocina de Luz. Only about 3 other people shared in the great food and sidewalk views on this... More

Perfectly suited to Telluride sensibilities: authentic flavors, healthy menu items, freshly prepared, generous servings, friendly staff serving up savory Mexican goodness!

If your favorite Mexican food is covered with a salty blob of cheese and mushy refried beans, you are probably not going like this place. Your side of beans will be whole pinto beans with queso fresco and your salad will have jicama and cilantro lime dressing. If this sounds good to you, definitely visit this place. It's delicious.

All the locals raved about this place, so we knew we had to try it while in Telluride. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is totally laid back with great local artwork all around the restaurant & good music. You order at the bar & they have a full array of local & authentic Mexican/Latin beers. I had the tacos... More

Line at door. Unclear if we order at the counter or sit down and have server take order. There was a little of both going on. And then another long line for ice cream. Anyway how ever u order the food is really good. They have a chips and salsa bar. Again could be self serve or ask your server.

Ate here with friends during a ski week and we all thoroughly enjoyed the meals and margaritas. Food was fresh, spiced just right and pretty authentic. Margaritas were strong and tasted like real lime juice, not a sugary mix. Service seemed uncoordinated b/c someone making drinks seated us and we seemed to upset the actual server/bus boy. After much waiting,... More

We went to La Cocina de Luz for breakfast and loved it. It was recommended by our local airbnb hosts, who said that it is the only restaurant that they go to in Telluride. It didn't disappoint!

Surprisingly good New Mexican style food. Breakfast items served till noon. Free chips and salsa bar. Entrees a bit pricy, but all items can also be ordered a la carte ( I can never eat all of an entree anyhow). Pulled chicken enchilada with NM style red sauce is the real deal.
