After an active day of hiking up to the lodge and riding the gondola back down, then bowling three games, we went into town for dinner. We decided to treat ourselves to ice cream (feeling we earned it!), and found Ciao Gelato just before closing. We enjoyed our delicious dessert as we walked around town. This was the perfect treat!

Homemade pizza, gelato and more! Straight from Italy!! Family owned & operated. It doesn't get any fresher than this. If you were to travel to Italy, this is what you would get. They also have salads, paninis, coffee drinks etc. The gelato is incredible-make sure to save some room for dessert!!

The gelati was amazing. It was just like what we had in Italy. The variety was great and the flavor was fantastic. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

This is a tiny Italian place with variety of gelato flavors and some simple food like pizza and such. We only had gelato at this place but not meal. Their gelato is great. I'm not an Italian so I can't tell you if their gelato is authentic or not, but it's definitely one of the best that I've tried. They... More

CIAO GELATO is refreshing, pleasant and welcoming in every way. Their coffees are first class "Italian brews", their pizzas and paninis as good as any in Florence and their Gelatos absolutely amazing. The husband and wife owners are always there and welcome everyone eith a sunny, Italian disposition.

Stopped here to try the gelato and we were not disappointed - it was as good as any we tasted in Italy. Creamy and delicious flavors like biscotti and salted caramel. Prices were reasonable for a specialty shop and we were able to select 3 flavors to fill a small sized cup - not skimpy portions either. The owners were... More

I loooovvveee ice cream and/or gelato (I have it everyday). After arriving in Steamboat Springs, I had to wait a day for gelato at Ciao Gelato. This gelato is well worth the wait. I like it when I can get 2 flavors in a small dish. The owners are friendly and nice, and from Italy. While we were there, a... More

Pizza was disappointing, was late and freezing out so we didn't try the gelato, but the stromboli was excellent. Take away the stromboli and I'd have this place as average

We live in Steamboat. We go often for gelato after meals, after biking, or just because we want to see the great owners and have gelato or a casual meal. The ambience is casual, on Main Street--Lincoln Ave, easy to find and very good. The owners are charming, want to please and the gelato the best in the USA.

Just like B&R but with gelato, which is creamer and richer than ice cream. They have little sample spoons so you can try something different without buying it. Great service and friendly!
