American classics with some updated twists, like loaded mashed potatoes, green beans slow cooked with bacon, burgers, steak. Great Kids menu too! And a bar, tv's, modern industrial barn decor. Cozy and welcoming, good meal. Public parking lot just across the street.

This used to be one of our favorites. Everything has gone way downhill. We’ve been coming here for at least eight years but we will not be back.

For several years we have made Carl’s a must do on our list of restaurants. This time we noticed several changes to the menu that seemed like fewer choices. A favorite, the lamb burger, is gone. Too bad.

We chose Carls while in Steamboat mainly because they take reservations for Super Bowl Sunday. The reservation required a 75$ pp minimum charge. Some thought this was a put off but I knew that would be no problem for us for ~4 hours of dining,...More

Wiliam...Thank you for the kind review and many thanks for having the faith in the Carl's Tavern team pulling off a fantastic time during that amazing game. Just like you said, $75 for 4 hours of time seems quite fair and everyone who attended felt...More

Description
A place for the hungry. The thirsty. The legendary. Some people actually think the Wright Brothers perfected human flight. Around here, we all know better. Carl Howelsen turned Steamboat into a playground, skis into wings, and mustaches into an art form. His adventurous spirit is our inspiration - and Carl’s Tavern is a place for adventurous spirits to call home. Here, the hospitality is genuine, the beer is cold, and the food is made from scratch. So come as you are, make yourself at home, and share a few of your own legendary stories. Just don’t try to one-up Carl; you’ll hurt yourself.
