We have frequented the Black Steer regularly since moving to the area 8 years ago. Our previous visits have always had good food and service. As we had not dined in quite a while we brought our out-of-town friends for dinner. Unfortunately, our visit did not meet our usual expectations. The daily special was a club steak (10 oz sirloin)... By acclaim, we always agree to return to the Black Steer to celebrate the Holidays and the steak menu at the Rear of the Steer. Good steaks, good conversation, and a good celebration.

This restaurant has been around for at least 30 years. You have to be doing something right to last that long in the restaurant business. Old time Western Atmosphere. Service is great and the food is good.

We moved here in 2012, started looking for our new place for a great steak. Who knew "The Rear of Steer" would have the best steaks around!!! Service has always been spot on! Their Desserts are out of this world!! Oh and my favorite, Spicy Bloody Mary!! THE BOMB!! Best kept secret ever!!!

We holed up in a banquette in the Rear of the Steer bar on our first visit here and were underwhelmed by the chewy signature pepper steak and the stale house pinot noir. There must be better cuts on the menu since these guys have been around since 1966. We might give them one more try for their ribeye.

Have been coming to this restaurant for years. The club steak sandwich is wonderful. Salad is plentiful and the steak is tender. Didn't have the dessert, but in the past have enjoyed the peanut butter pie. This is a don't miss place!

Since the bar in the back is called "The Rear of the Steer", I figured people here must have some sort of sense of humor. Ha! Not likely! The server came up and greeted us to seat us, and asked if we were there for dinner, and my wife said, "Yes"... but then I said, "I just wanted to see... More

While the ambiance is something from the '60s, the food is fresh, cooked right, and mmm good. For a steak house, the price is decent. Great steaks.

Black Steer has been a favorite in Loveland for many years. It is one of the original full service restaurants in Loveland. The still serve the best steaks you will find anywhere. The meat is the thing at Black Steer. It is hand cut and cooked to your liking. If is not what you expected please let them know and... More
