We stopped at the Theehuis for lunch following a visit to the Cruquius Pumping Station located next door. The coffee and food was good as was the waitstaff. The restaurant is set on a small river with big old trees in the garden which was a beautiful setting. On a sunny day, there was a lot of passing traffic -... More

Located next to the museum in the former residence of the steam mill foreman this teahouse is a nice place to stop by for a drink and a snack. If the weather is nice you can set on the terrace with a good view at the source of the Spaarne River.

After an intensive meeting we decided we could use some relax time on a terrace in the sun, so we ended up at this place. Nice surrounding on the waterside next to the museum which is nice to visit also iff you have time. We picked a nice spot on a bench arround a big tree and enjoyed a nice... More

I popped into this restaurant after visiting the nearby pumphouse museum for a quick burger and a beer. Wow. The hamburger was amazing -- out of this world! If you're in the neighbourhood (anywhere west of Amsterdam) make the time to visit the museum, and the restaurant.

After a visit to the pumping station, we stopped here for lunch. There were not a lot of choices for those of us who do not eat wheat. I had a goat cheese and nut salad that was one of the best salads I have ever had. My husband's food was less memorable. We both felt the hot chocolate, with... More

You can have a drink or have some lunch, liked the atmosphere of a historical tearoom. We ended up ordering pancackes, delicious.

We tried to have lunch here but due to the very unorganised and slow service we had to leave after finishing our drinks but without the chance to even order our food. We asked for the menu several times but never received it. People just arriving were served right away and others had to wait and got upset. We chose... More

Only a few miles away from Haarlem.. ( very good bus connection) and you find yourself in the middle of the country-side: water in front, windmill, small (free) boat to bring you to the other side. A terras almost always full with nice people, looking at the yachts and every sort of ship passing by while sipping at your coffee... More

This restaurant is the former home of the steam engine foreman at the Cruquius pumping station next door (now a museum). The terrace looks out over the ringvaart canal at the mouth of the Spaarne river, which gets lots of boat traffic. The apple pie is fantastic
