We dined here on a Friday night and were surprised that we were almost the only people there when we arrived around 7pm. The waiter was very friendly and told us about the specials. He bragged about the salad bar (which other people on tripadvisor also do) but then informed us that if we wanted it, it would only be... More

While perusing a eating out in Durango guide in hotel I saw that they had trout and wanted to try it, so we went and thoroughly enjoyed it. They accommodated my husbands few 'particulars' and even asked the chef a question for us on a certain term we (and the server) weren't familiar with. Now, the salad bar - had... More

Thanks to the staff at the Red Snapper for a 20th anniversary dinner to remember. They seated us at a table in front of the big salt water fish tank which was a nice touch. Several staff came by to wish us a happy anniversary. Our waiter was attentive, but not invasive. A special dessert with a candle was a... More

My wife had the 'special', scallops with sesame rice and a 'vanilla'(?) Grand Marinier sauce -- delicious; and I had the Ahi Tuna entree, also delicious. Nice venue--the salt water fish tank sure beat a flat screen blather of news or sports. Worth a trip if you are in the neighborhood.

The Red Snapper continues to be my favorite restaurant in town. We had a great server who was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were a party of 5, ordering everything from Crab Legs to Salmon, and we were all very happy with our food.

Found The Red Snapper while walking around downtown Durango. Wife had Lobster tail dinner. I had Halibut special with sliced potatoes with a Lobster meat barranaise sauce. Both meals came with home made mixed vegetables that were amazing. All food excellent.

One of the best restaurants in Durango. Great salad bar. Had scallops, they were also great. Our waitperson, Sarah, could not of been better. Even recommend another restaurant that was on our way out of Durango. There wine list was full of great wines. A must stop in Durango. BUD CARTER

We (6 of us) eat at the Red Snapper 1 to 2 times per year on our sightseeing travels... and they have always delighted us with their delicious food selections. Last Saturday I had their Halibut... wish I could have eaten the whole thing... it was by far the best I'd ever eaten! The service was excellent... the restaurant is... More

This is not a chain restaurant. Its the real deal culinary experience. The salad bar is awesome. The seafood dishes are exciting and unusual. I think you will be impressed. We usually make it our anniversary place for dinner every year.

You wonder about how good seafood can be in a relatively small town hundreds of miles from the ocean. Don't worry about it at the Red Snapper. I had the Cioppino ($22) and it was delicious. The tomato broth was thicker than most, but it certainly worked. We started with Calamari ($9) which was nicely cooked and lightly breaded. My... More
