Good idea, could have used a tastier nut-based batter. Pepitas are ok, but they lose they flavor when heated. Pecan might have been better. But then you lose the cachet of southwestern connotation. You can't say, "Chimayo," and then lump in pecans. Or can you?...More

The weekend we were in Durango was extremely busy with various events, fall colors. We walked in with no reservations, our mistake, but found a seat at the bar which was fine while we waited for another to open. The bartenders worked as hard as...More

I had the Marguerite pizza and it was delicious. Could not have been better. In addition the house salad that came with it was very good. We ordered a pan of cornbread which was scrumptious. My wife had the roasted vegetable salad which was perfect....More

You can see the pizzas going into the oven. Much more than just a pizzeria, excellent variety of choice. Was there for lunch, would return for dinner if I was spending more time in Durango.

Lots of familiar and unusual menu choices. They had just introduced their fall menu. We had the squash fondue, which was delicious, and a pizza Margarita. It was noisy, but didn't interfere with conversation. Great service by Megan.

We ordered the guacamole to start! Very tasty. But the start of the show was the pork chop and squash/potato purée! I had the caprese salad. Service and food a hit!

Had a great lunch today. Came recommended by our guide as well as several local business owners. Great presentation, flavors. The steak tacos as well as rice and beans and salad were delicious. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Would happily return.

I forgot the name of the sandwich that we ordered, but it had prosscuitto, basil, tomato & cheese on artisan bread. Absolutely wonderful! The staff is friendly & the customer service will keep folks coming back. I could eat there every day-such great food!

We only accept reservation for parties of 6 or more. If your party is smaller than that, we are extremely efficient and you should not wait long, if at all.

Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen is a contemporary American bistro with a southwestern flair. Fresh salads, creative small plates, artisanal pizzas, and fire-roasted steaks, chicken and seafood are prepared in twin 600+ degree stone hearth ovens in an open kitchen. The Owners have restored the interior of the historic Century Building on Main Avenue, revealing turn-of-the century Carnegie steel support beams, the original maple hardwood floor and decorative tin ceiling tiles, and the original brick wall. These historical elements, along with the expo kitchen, rollup windows, and 35-foot curved bar, create an urban industrial loft setting for a unique Durango dining experience.
