At first glance Kokoro may seem like a shambly Denver pass up. However if you take the time to stop here and have one of their many fantastic, simple and fresh options you'll be coming back again. The staff is friendly and attentive- the drink menu is solid with everything from Japanese beer to Hot saki and the food is... More

I have been coming to Kokoro since I was a kid, but was recently back in town for a brief visit. Kokoro was one of the first restaurants on my list to visit, and I was not disappointed. Their gyoza is just as delicious as ever!

I went here for a quick lunch with a friend who recommended it since we were in the neighborhood. I was very pleased with the food, we both got a rice bowl with salmon. The wait staff was very friendly and put two tables together for us since she needed to put her foot up after surgery. The food was... More

I've been coming here since I was young. As kids, we always requested it because it was delicious and we wanted to use chopsticks, and our parents liked that the wait time was minimal. My dad grew up on a Japanese Air Force base, and still called this one of his favorite restaurants. The beef bowl is a classic, but... More

We always enjoy going to Kokora for fast and fresh Japanese food! Casual with lots of locals who come for meals. We usually have a type of chicken or beef bowl -- there are several to choose from. The chicken is Red Bird so it's more of an organic and I like that. Chicken in any entree choice is really... More

Very casual restaurant for low cost bowls, edamame, gyoza, shumai etc. My favorite is the white meat chicken teriyaki bowl with rice. I think it is around $5. We usually stop in while we are out running errands on Saturday.

Kokoro is our all time favorite place to eat while we're in Denver. The menu is not typical Japanese - yes, they do have sushi but I think the best items on the menu are the chicken bowl, the beef bowl and the chicken katsu. The food is cooked fresh and the service is always excellent!

My family had rave reviews about this place and I was i initially impressed with the friendliness of their staff and affordable prices. I ordered take out and when I brought home the food it seemed more like a bowl of white rice (I requested, brown rice) with a small dab of what I was hoping would be a main course.... More
