I had a quick lunch at the Avalanche. Ordered the burger without a bun, with mushrooms, sautéed onions, avocado, and fries. Very good lunch. The atmosphere was ok. Waitress was friendly and helpful (I had questions about gluten free options).

You can always count on great food here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is a great place to meet summer or winter!

Very busy place when the lifts close as it is right at the base. Had drinks and apps post skiing and both were very good.

Loved the location of the Avalanche Bar & Grill. We could grab a slice of pizza or sit down and order a meal in the evening. Fun atmosphere and enough options to keep everyone happy.

We were skiing and decided to eat lunch on the Mountain. The Avalanche Bar and Grill was just off the area where you stack your skis, easy to walk to, even in ski boots. The design of the place and the decor oozed Colorado ski chalet. OK, but we didn't come here for aesthetics. We were pleasantly surprised at the... More

OK, we have eaten at the Avalanche several times (it is very close to our condo), and have in the past had OK experiences. However, this time was a big disappointment. The good: the waitress was very good and very attentive. The house Cabernet was great and reasonably priced. My wife's Reuben was good. The bad: my half rack of... More

This place has amazing food and is located right at the base of the mountain. The atmosphere is very welcoming with a ski-lodge feel. The wait staff was very attentive even though they were crazy busy when we were there. I eat here on every trip to the Butte and highly recommend you do the same.

At first glance the Avalance Bar & Grill is just another sports bar, but at closer inspection is has great character and vintage charm. At with four people, and we all raved about our food!

Avalanche was recommended to me by my ski instructor. He was spot on. Both times I went for lunch I had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. Your whole party has to be there otherwise they won't seat you. The first time I ordered the potstickers and sweet potato waffle fries. The fried potstickers were okay, but the... More

My family loves the Avalanche and we always eat there at least once every time we ski in Crested Butte.
