With cooked to order authentic, traditional food, this is a must visit restaurant! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very casual. Nothing fancy about this place, just really really good food! They use fresh, local ingredients whenever they can as well as traditional spices and recipes. Definitely worth the experience!

Great prices and really good food. We had korma, saag, lamb curry, chow mein and sherpa stew. All was great! My only complaint is the naan was a little dry.

This small family run establishment just off Main Street in Crested Butte offers guest a chance to sample deliciously prepared traditional food from worlds highest mountains. Influence by its culture and position at along the silk/spice road the food of the sherpas is wonderful blend of Tibetan, Nepalese, Mongolian and Chinese cuisines with some additioinal south asian influence. Been visiting CB for well over a decade and this was our first visit. In spite of all of the other wonderful CB restaurants this one is also worth a visit. The Tibetan soups my wife and I had hit the spot on a chilly night. The chai tea is also yummy. The article in 2016-17 winter visitors guide was... More

It's hard to find the perfect place (for me) in Crested Butte. Usually it's a choice of (a) the "order-from-the-counter" and find a table in a crowded restaurant, (b) bar-scene, or (c) too-high-priced "fine dining." The Sherpa Cafe is just the perfect blend of great food, great service, and great prices for a relaxed, sit-down meal with friends.

The café is a simple and intimate atmosphere. It is a small place, and at the time we visited it was not too crowded. We made small talk with other patrons sitting near by, as the seating is pretty close. The chai tea is perfection! The meals we enjoyed were top notch. It's not easy to avoid gluten and/or dairy... Simple nepalese recipes but not a cosy place to be for a long lunch. Not the best experience for a group.

Indian cuisine is a dining-out staple for my family, and this restaurant has emerged as a new favorite. The food was excellent. From the appetizers to the Indian and Napalese main courses, everything was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the service was friendly and attentive. (My son said he'd give it six stars... More

After a wonderful day of skiing, it's time for a hot cup of Chi Tea. We recognize that this restaurant is under the leadership of new owners but we have been very pleased with the new owners. The restaurant is a wonderful place to eat. We like Saag with chicken. Their soup is also very good. Top it off with... More
