I finally made it to Shuga’s and I have to say, I don’t get it. This place is way overrated. It’s not bad food but it is certainly mediocre at best. If I’m going to pay this much for food, I expect better than what...More

Rolled up into this cute little neighborhood by accident. Decided to pop in. So glad I did. This is a summer restaurant if I’ve ever seen one. Yes, it’s perfectly lovely in other seasons I suspect but if I HAD to choose one season -...More

Homemade soups, great sandwiches, Interesting tasty salads. Loved my delish cocktail. We sat on the dog-friendly patio. The prices are SO reasonable for these tasty treats. You must try the shrimp bisque. This restaurant is in a home so it's not a super clean swanky...More

Variety of open sandwiches on a board...a lavender martini in my hand...an umbrella for shade and my best friend to chat. Summer is great at Shuga's! They served 4 different sandwiches you can pick from a list. Crusty bread and great toppings. There was unfortunately...More

Shuga’s is a funky restaurant serving really excellent salads and sandwiches. There’s a great cocktail menu and you can also get carafes of certain ones - we have a great carafe of mojitos. We started with the Mediterranean tray. My favorite salad is nicoise and...More

Out and about in CO Springs we were in search of a good lunch. We found Shuga’s and it was really crowded. We ended up sitting at the bar so conversation was at a minimum but the food made up for the loudness and the...More

I just love the vibe here: Casual, artsy, gourmet. I wanted my daughter to try the Brazilian spicy shrimp soup and she loved it too. I shamelessly asked the waitress if they would share the recipe, but she laughed and said no. Oh well. Paired with...More

We were looking for lunch and stumbled across this place in what I guess is a residential neighborhood in Colorado Springs. I guess you could call it an "alternative neighborhood restaurant." Whatever you call it, it was very simple, very informal, and quite nice. We...More

Went here with a friend as we were on spring break. Have a friend that has talked about it for so long, decided had to try. Took one of the reviewers advice and had a cocktail with lavender. Delicious! Also had the smoked salmon pita...More

This was a fun little out of the way local place. The Cuban mojo sandwich and shrimp soup are winners. Make sure to save room to share the almond butter cake. It was refreshing, not too sweet, and delicious. The staff was very efficient, friendly...More

I believe they do have gluten free. I know that Coquettes gluten free bakery will be moving in a block away from Shugas.

There is outdoor seating, but it's more of a funky than swanky vibe. Yes, you can see the mountains.

Description
Established in 2001. Shuga's was created by Alexius Weston as a place to hang out with great food and really inventive cocktails. She had just come from the Northwest area of the country and wanted to create a cool space where she felt comfortable. Initially focusing on Vivace espresso as a delicious mainstay, the place soon morphed into serving amazing paninis, salads, and the out-of-this-world Brazilian Coconut Shrimp Soup. The infusion of Lavender Martinis and cocktails created with care helped launch Shuga's into the forefront of the local Colorado Springs food scene.
