My wife and I were a bit skeptical about this place; the name is odd. But we were charmed by the atmosphere. The salsa was different but smooth and tasty. The entrees were quite good. I had pork burritos; the meat was tender and lean. The spice level, even at medium, was pretty intense but not overwhelming. The food will... More

I have to admit. I saw the name of this place and said - this is not a place for me. My wife wanted to go and as any good spouse knows - that is where we were going. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Our drinks arrived promptly and we were offered options for the heat level of our... More

FANTASTIC & AUTHENTIC. Colorado Springs has more Mexican restaurants than any other type. To survive here (for 50 years) you gotta be doing something right. This is not a huge place but a nice Mexican atmosphere. Great food, great service and great drinks. There is a daily special and happy hour. Also a nice variety of lunch specials. My wife... More

I have reviewed this restaurant in past and it has been so so. We have continued to visit throughout the years and have noticed recently some improvements. Food has been more consistent and higher quality so I don't know what has changed but keep it up. Chili rellenos are egg based but crispy. Service has been exceptional when it has... More

While running some errands, we stopped in here for dinner. Food was good enough. (no OMG moment). The salsa was weird. It tasted like plain Ragu spaghetti sauce with chili powder added to it. Very odd. Here's my problem..... When the waitress was taking my wifes order, she asked wife if she wanted sour cream and Guacamole? Wife said yes... More

We love this place! A regular Friday night ritual. Authentic Mexican food (not that fast food variety), great atmosphere (older stucco building with special Mexican touches). The owner (very gracious lady) comes around and meets and greets you and thanks you for coming. Her son runs the restaurant and greets us warmly. The wait staff are super friendly and are... More

In Colorado Springs there is no shortage of Mexican resturants but the come and go. he is a great authentic restaurant that has been doing business for almost 50 years. Obviously the food is great, reasonable prices and a nice Mexican atmosphere. There are daily specials and a buy one get one drink. It is also in a great central... More

Beans tasted like canned, rice tasted like it was from a package. Meat was bland, tacos greasy; certainly not worth $11.50 for a plate. No substitutions and the only way to get a tamale was with green chili?? Not how I remembered this restaurant, such a shame.

Quest dip tasted like a VERY cheap version of velvet and rotel from a crock pot. Salsa tasted like a jar of prego spagetti sauce. Horchata...your guess is as good as mine. I cannot even comment on the sorry excuse for a pork burrito. I have never been so disappointment with food in my life. Thank you Bean Bandit for... More
