great place for a coffee of brekkie - not sure about other meals. Really friendly owners and staff, beautiful surroundings. prompt service.
We dropped in after leaving the Marakoopa caves for a quick coffee and ice creams. The owners were super friendly, the cafe large and well presented, and the quality of the ice cream was superb... what a find! We didn’t try the food, but it...looked good. Drop in if you go to the caves and you won’t be disappointed.More
What an unexpected delight after the caves. This little cafe with it’s delicious hot dogs and coffee will definitely please all travellers. a little quirky but this adds to its charm. Quick service uncomplicated menu.
We stopped by here for something to eat after visiting the caves. There was a good variety of items on the menu. My husband had the German hot dog, which he said was very tasty, while the scones were some of the best I have...ever had. The service here is friendly and the food is homemade and tasty. I also picked up a couple of lovely prints of birds from a local artist at a very reasonable price.More
The best lunch plans we made - old school European hot dogs, great home made soup, coffee and Sarah’s apple jam with some cream on scones is a must have! A nice way to break up the three Mole Creek Cave tours not two minutes...drive.More
We booked the cafe for lunch for a group we were hosting on a trip to Tasmania. The food and atmosphere did not disappoint. The food arrived very promptly and was absolutely delicious, everyone enjoyed it. We had a set menu due to the size...of the group, but everyone loved the hot smoked salmon, and the desert - rhubarb and elderflower cheesecake, was amazing. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.More
The staff at this place were lovely and the scones I had were great too. I would recommend going to the toilet at the Mole Creek Cave centre though because this place just has a portaloo.
Hi Amy, thanks for the kind words. As regards the portaloo, we are situated in Karst (limestone, cave and subterranean river systems) and we have the waste taken away to protect the environment. We hope you understand. Thanks so much for your visit :-)
Stopped in on way to cave, great food and warm friendly service. So good that we called in on the way back to take dinner back to our accomadation. Definitely pop in if you get th3 chance.
We had made a random stop at this cafe after our trip to the Marakoopa Cave as our kids were hungry. It was one of the best decisions of the trip. The cafe not only served a great fare and excellent coffee but Lars and...his wife were so hospitable and we were fortunate to listen to their journey to Tasmania and how they had set up their home, started their family as well as developed their cafe. The cafe is a quaint one with some lovely gardens. Lars' family home is just next to the cafe and the space of their compound is very picturesque. A great ambience and I would certainly recommend to stop by this cafe before or after your visit to the Marakoopa Cave.More
Randomly stopped here on our way to the caves and was very happy we did. Lovely coffee and friendly staff - which has been hit and miss on some of our Tassie trip - so was really happy with this cafe. Definitely recommend you stop...in to/from the caves.More
This cafe is the perfect stop when visiting the caves. We stopped in after our cave tour for lunch. The owners are lovely, great service. We all had kransky hot dogs. They were very tasty and there was several different types to choose from. The...menu isn’t huge but what we had we were happy with. From memory they also had panini’s (with vegetarian option) and Nachos. They also had a selection of cakes, scones, biscuits and hot drinks. I won’t hesitate recommending this cafe.More
The coffee is great. The ambience on s cloudy day makes it romantic. The garden with variety of flowers lovely.
Stumbled across this cafe and really glad we did. The best coffee I have had so far in Tassie. The scones were really lovely and you must try the speciality Sour dough hot dogs. The gardens are lovely BUT the owners are very warm and...welcoming. Definitely worth detouring to visit this cafe.More
Warmed up after visit to the caves with tasty spiced sweet potato soup and good Cappuccino. Limited menu but tasty interesting options and good for vegitarians. Wood stove , local busker singalong session, a marvellous first day on our Tasmanian holiday.
