The Pearl Eatery was something me and my girlfriend looked forward to for some time before we booked our reservation... my regret is we did not book it sooner in the year and had more chances to eat there! The atmosphere of the establishment is...very cozy and welcoming, from the deck and beautiful garden flowers, to the inside, rustic looking with nice art pieces and decor on the walls. The staff was knowledgeable about the food and wine, and asked us how things were just the right amount, without being intrusive at all. The food itself was stunning, both in looks and taste. I myself had a beef entree and main dish, both of which were nice tender, juicy and well seasoned beef cuts that was tasty enough to light my pallet ablaze! The desert I had was a chocolate mousse which was dense, sweet, creamy and delicious! Every bite was a pleasure from start to finish. The presentation of all dishes was finished with finesse, and looked amazing! Everything about The Pearl Eatery is amazing and we cannot wait to go back next season. They change the menu every month or so to keep up with what is in season, for fresh delicious ingredients, and it’s also nice to try new things. We plan on going back a few times next year and my mouth is salivating already!! Fantastic and romantic date spot if you wish to make an impression on the one you love!More

This past summer my boyfriend and I absolutely loved our experience at The Pearl Eatery from start to finish. After parking we walked around the exterior admiring the decor and greenery. We were greeted promptly and told we’d be seated shortly and we waited out...in the sun on a cute little bench until being walked up the stairs to our ADORABLE intimate little 2-person table. The atmosphere was so welcoming and warm I forgot I was even in a restaurant. Even the plates and cutlery were whimsical and romantic. Our waitress was kind, genuine and attentive. The meal started off with a crab appetizer that was compliments of the chef. We enjoyed and savoured and fell in love with every bite right up until my last spoonful of rhubarb panna cotta. We were chatted with by lovely staff and owners at the end of the night who were clearly passionate about their amazing establishment and what they do, and made sure to check that our evening went smoothly and that we loved everything, which we most certainly did. Hurricane Dorian caused them to have to close early for the season so we didn’t get to go back a second time, as eager as we were, but we’ve been talking ever since about how much we anticipate our next visit back, and next summer can’t come soon enough! If you are looking for a lovely and romantic night that will make you forget about the bustling world as you step foot into a lovely cozy little dwelling with ever-changing, inspiring and tantalizing food, I highly recommend The Pearl Eatery.More

We were told that this was the best restaurant on the island. It may be the prettiest but as far as food goes I was not impressed. My appetizer, a chick pea soup, was excellent. It was thick but creamy and very tasty. I ordered...a duck dish that said it was duck breast. It was well done stewed duck, very minimal number of pieces on top of some creamy barley. The barley was better than the duck. This was served with none other than the all too famous PEI potatoes. I would not expect a fine restaurant to pile two carb dishes on a single plate. My husband had a steak which was tiny but at least recognizable. The service was very nice and they went out of their way to accommodate one of our party's allergic needs.More

First the good news: Our server was attentive, fun, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She checked in on us several times without being intrusive. Now, for the rest: The menu is prix fixe - a great idea, in theory - which we enjoy frequently...while in Europe. However, the menu at The Pearl is overpriced for the options. The 3 courses - first, main, dessert - offered 5 (I believe) options within each category. Unfortunately, some of the options were no longer available or had been modified. Nevertheless, we ordered what seemed to be a delicious meal. The reality? The salad was bland and too lightly dressed; the clam linguini had very good clams, but also had clam bits that were like chewing on rubber bands; the beef was very good, but missing "something"; the dessert - a sorbet - was the best part of the meal. In summary, a great concept that needs to be accompanied by great food. We dine out regularly and were very excited to try The Pearl, but we'll be going elsewhere next time.More

For our second visit we were as delighted as we were on our first meal in 2016. A very cosy house with a charming welcoming. The bouillabaisse is simply delicious and worth the visit by itself. The carrot cake without flour, WOW!!! Next vacation time...in summer 2020, it will be a real treat to come back.More

Found that the dishes served did not match the online photos of the same dishes,e.g. the lobster risotto served was a small square within the plate and did not contain one piece of actual lobster meat whereas the online photo shows this dish with a...full lobster tail curled on top. The blueberry dessert was a very small portion and was "nothing special". The markup on wine, in my opinion is unjustified i.e. charging $57 for a Bodega Norton Malbec Reserva which can be bought @ PEILLC for $20.19!! It may appeal to tourists with "fat wallets" but won't see this Islander again!More

The Pearl has been one of our island favorites ever since it opened, but we were not impressed on our last visit. They have gone to a fixed price dinner ($60) and for that money, you expect superb food. This year's lobster bisque wasn't quite...the ambrosia it has been. The fixed price forced you to select one from each category, whereas I would have preferred ordering several appetizers and then dessert, especially since the entree was only good, not outstanding.More

We attended opening night of the 3rd of the series of PrixFixe menus (for one fixed price you receive your choice of appetizer, entree, and a dessert). We were welcomed by smiles, and seated in a beautiful restaurant. We tried the Oysters with the Mignonette...as a starter, the Mignonette tasty and refreshingly delicious. The basket of warm bread heavenly, and the amuse-bouche teasing with a desire to want more of both. Such welcome treats. We shared the Island Gold Mussels and the Red Island Cider Braised Pork Belly for appetizers, the latter definitely our favourite! The mussel broth was good, creamy with bacon. For the main we chose the Duck Confit with grain salad, and the Pan Seared Halibut with ratatouille. Both were delicious. I didn’t realize the grain salad would be cold so the first forkful took me by surprise, but the light taste and exquisite flavours more than made up for it. The halibut was cooked to perfection, light and flaky, sitting on a bed of ratatouille. Superb! Dessert was the Blueberry Grunt/Dumplings with Goats Milk Ice Cream. A unique, not overly sweet dessert with plenty blueberries involved, and delicious with the ice cream, the dumplings (gluten free I think they told us after the fact) a pleasant surprise. The owner, Tanyia, and her team are committed to guests having a pleasant experience and definitely recommend The Pearl Eatery to anyone who wants an elegant evening enjoying some fine dining in the Cavendish area. We’re already eagerly anticipating the next Menu in September. Thank you Tanyia, and The Pearl Eatery staff, for another evening, this one a great success.More
