This is a fun place and the food is good. We went for lunch. My husband ordered the minestrone soup which he liked. Then we shared a burger and fries. It is not cheap but it is good. I ordered the grass fed beef which added two dollars to my burger. The fries were abundant. They also have a full... More

This place is an old hotel from yesteryear, done up nicely and turned into a brew pub. The food is good, so is the service, and these folks are very community minded. Well worth the stop!

I love this restaurant. The food is five star. As an example, I had just returned from the Oregon coast, having been at a salmon feed on the wharf. It was very good. A couple of days later I went to the Lassen Ale Works and ordered salmon. It was far superior tasting than the salmon I had in Oregon!... More

Tasty American fare with some ethnic additions. Served in an historic building with creaking wood floors and soaring ceilings. Modest prices. Try the Basque lamb stew! Lots of brews from which to select.

We had a variety of things for dinner. We started with fried mushrooms and fried pickles. Both were good. I had the soup and salad which came with some awesome garlic bread, my husband had the Eagle Lake saute prepared with a little lemon butter, shrimp, scallops and rock cod over angel hair pasta similar to shrimp scampi. He enjoyed... More

We came for lunch - husband had the fish tacos and I had the french dip. Both were good as were our two glasses of California wine. We enjoyed visiting with the owner.

I am from the Oregon Coast and have never had better fish and chips than at the Lassen Ale House! All of their food and drinks are exceptionally good and the staff is really friendly and upbeat. If your visiting Susanville , don't miss this place !

Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon in Uptown Susanville is NE California's only brewpub. The historic Pioneer Mercantile building we occupy has been home to a saloon for over 150 years--look for the large vintage neon Pioneer sign on the south side of Main Street. We offer a small but eclectic menu of house-made dishes including fish and chips, lamb stew, hamburgers and fresh salads. Our ales are made on site and include light and dark ales from the pale, crisp Bizz Johnson Blonde to the rip snorting Pioneer Porter. We also have a full bar, specialty cocktails, wines by the glass and a selection of single malt scotch. Take a seat at our 36-foot-long bar and admire the wall of local ranch brands above the bar back. Or watch the brewer at work in the back room and play pool beneath the historic mural that celebrates Susanville's logging and ranching roots.
