My family has been going here for 25+ years. We have our favorite dishes, chicken salad and Tao Tao beef. There are some duds too. The service has always sucked, and it did this past weekend too.

Ranking this against the other restaurants on Murphy street, this is at the top of my list. The Tao Tao beef was very good, extremely tender and wonderful flavor. The Honey walnut shrimp was amazing. The only down side was that the portions could have been a little larger. I like to have some Chinese leftovers the next day and... More
This isn't the best choice for Chinese in the area. The Tao Tao beef is the best item on the menu. The once famous chicken salad is so not exciting. The problem is they are very inconsistent with flavor and freshness. Over the 20 years my family and I have been coming here it has gone downhill fast. If you... More
We went for dinner at Tao Tao's. We had their superb Mai Tais. They are freshly made with good pineapple and other fruits. For dinner, we had their very good chicken salad We also had honey walnut prawns, as well as Tao Tao Beef. We had a side order of steamed rice. Service was good. Fortune cookies came with the... More
It's been there for decades, still have good business. People know their Chinese chicken salad and Tao Tao Beef are popular. I think they use good quality ingredients like beef is tender, but chicken salad oil tasted a bit old.
I was excited when we fell into this Cantonese restaurant ( I don't find them Often in the Bay Area) but the food was kind of disappointing. Tao Tao Beef special was too sweet , shrimp w lobster sauce too bland . Service was odd - accommodating but not gracious , no Napkins on the table - that kind of... More
Have always looked forward to Tao Tao's but the attitude of the wait staff tonight made me feel unwelcome and unwilling to come back. Food is always good to great, but service was spotty tonight with dishes arriving at different times and requests for sauces taking several minutes after food was delivered and sauces were requested. When bill came I... More
My daughter and I selected this restaurant based on the recommendation of our Airbnb hostess. So glad happy she did! We ordered Asparagus Prawns, Sesame Chicken, And Won Ton Soup. Everything was absolutely delicious with my daughter proclaiming that the won ton soup was the best she ever had! When we arrived (Monday @ 8pm), the restaurant was busy but... More
We had a great dinner here with 5 people. The food was just awesome and the rotating plate on the table is briljant, so you can share with the group. Only downside was the staff. They acted like they didn't want us there. Uninterested and making lot of noices (with smartphones and tablets)
First opened many years ago by the former chef of Ming's, this restaurant has continued to serve very good Cantonese Chinese food. Service is excellent, prices are reasonable, and the decor pleasant and unobtrusive. I recently also had lunch there, which was quite inexpensive for the portions served. Located on the "main drag" in Sunnyvale, Murphy Street, in the midst... More
