I have driven past Summerland hundreds of times, but that won't happen again! I will make sure to always plan my road trip hunger and stop in Summerland to dine at the Cafe! It is in an old home and is quirky and quaint! My...husband and I stopped for breakfast. The portions were generous and all of the food was good. Great value!More

it had been a while since we stopped in and were excited to try some favorites. Unfortunately the meals were not as good as they had been in the past. The cheese on the tuna "melt" was not melted at all, and the fries were...cold. The fresh vegetables on the other meal consisted of just a tiny bit of broccoli and a ton of onion and bell peppers ... not what you think of when ordering a side of veggies. Will be even longer before we go back.More

Overcrowded place, really nothing special at all regards to flavor. Staff are super nice, great outdoor seating but that’s about as far as it goes

I used to go there in the early 90s for brunch with my friends, so this was definitely a nostalgia pick on this trip. The food is not great, but I went to 4 stars for the atmosphere and the professional manner that it is...run. They've been at it for almost 40 years, so they have the mechanics nailed. I had an omelette that was close to tasteless, and my son thought his burger was average, but didn't like the fries because he could taste the frying oil.More

I was recommended this cafe from a family on one of my Guard Change walking tours in London and they gave me a $20 tip to use on breakfast here. On my arrival in Summerland i soon found the place and duly went in for...breakfast. The staff were attentive and the coffee and orange juice was flowing! Great breakfast filled me up for the day. My friends enjoyed their breakfast as well. Will definitely returnMore

Upon deciding to revisit a dear friend in Santa Barbara, one of my only requests was “please can we go back and have brunch at the Summerland Beach Cafe”. It’s just one of those places you just have to keep going back to and is...equally popular with locals. The elevated outside seating is just perfect to while away a morning in the sun (or shade). There are many options for fabulous breakfasts but likewise they have so much more on offer including great burgers and wonderful salads. All of which hits the mark being homemade, fresh and comforting. Service in my experience has always been faultless only sometimes taking a little long to settle up and of course it can get busy so it’s not unusual to have to hang around to get a table. For me it delivers with it’s location, the ambiance and experience, it’s simply a must when staying in the area and I guess it’s location also works great for people driving through. Beware it’s open for breakfast and lunch but not dinner.More

This place used to be great. No longer I went there 08/11/2019 and it was awful. The busser was borderline aggressive from from the start. Appeared as if he hated his job. The waiter was late. Mixed our orders up and forgot two things. The...table had food on it from previous guests. To top if off the eggs benny had a hard yoke. I'm not sure what the bread was but it wasn't an English muffin. Avoid like the plague.More

Cute cafe off the interstate. Renovated older home with patio seating. Food is traditional and well prepared, and service was excellent Seems to be a favorite stop for breakfast. However, did not see the beach

First of all, this restaurant is NOT on Summerland Beach; but rather on the opposite side of noisy Highway 101. Views from the deck are OK looking southeast; but blocked by the freeway traffic looking straight out to the ocean. Host was alert, friendly and...efficient. Our server was fairly proficient, well trained; but short on personality and had zero peripheral vision. We were seated in the main thoroughfare between the kitchen and east dining room, so she had to pass our table frequently. No eye contact contact at all. I had to literally put my arm out into the aisle to ask for water, pico de gallo, a bigger spoon for my oatmeal and the check. Speaking of which, if you want a glass of water, it costs $1 to buy a bottle of water. They claim this is due to the drought, which was declared officially over last year. My wife ordered the Scrambled Egg dish with toast and fruit and I ordered the Oatmeal with sautéed bananas. The scrambled eggs were over-cooked, dry and rubbery, even the pico de Gallo couldn’t help, so she just ate the toast and fruit. My Oatmeal was good, great bananas and plenty of walnuts and raisins. The spoon they gave me was really a child’s spoon, the handle so short I couldn’t mix in the cream without getting my fingers into the oatmeal. I asked for a larger spoon; but that was all they had. When I asked our server to clear our plates, no mention of the uneaten eggs was forthcoming. Then we sat until our server came by with food for another table before I could literally wave my hand in front of her face to ask for the check. Then we sat some more. Finally the check arrived and the good news was we hadn’t been charged for the pico de gallo. Good spot for locals that are used to the “local flavor “; but our last time to put up with the quirks and barely survivable service.More

Lovely breakfast by the beach. Honestly, can't remember if there is a beach view, but we sat outside, and it was so nice. Great choice of food and service was outstanding. We all got something different, and we all loved our choices.
