Driving from The Central Valley of California to the Central Coast provides one with many fast food options, but let me convince you to take some time to drop in at The Jack Ranch Cafe between Cholame and Shandon on Highway 46 (Open 7:00 AM-7:30 PM and let your country senses be awakened! The menu is short, but everything on... More

We try to hit this place every time on our way to the beach. Food is always good, wait staff are very friendly and food comes out pretty quick. If you're not hungry for a meal, come in for the pies or cobbler, you won't be disappointed. A bit of history is here, James Dean's Memorial.

Stopped by on a trip through earthquake country. Though the address says Shandon the location is in Cholame. In December there are many tourist facilities that close up but Jack Ranch Cafe is open and appears to service as many of the local cattle ranchers as it does tourists. There were more locals than tourists in the cafe when we... More

My fiancé, friends and I rode to Morro Bay for the weekend, along the way we stopped at Jack Ranch Cafe which was a nice quaint experience. The waitress told us she had worked there for about 17 years, although the staff were friendly, the food was good and the prices were fair, the service was a little slow for... More

Good food at a good price. Had the huevos rancheros for breakfast. Oh so good! Not a fancy place but worth the stop. The James Dean memorial is in the parking lot

Good food and service. Quaint, nothing fancy but great grass fed beef. Burgers and steak aroma pulled me in as we were checking out the James Dean memorial. Friendly service.

On the road between Pacific Coast Highway and I-5 at entrance to Hearst Winery. Great burger, nice staff & friendly service. Glad I stopped in.

We have always wondered about this restaurant. We have passed it for years, but never really thought about stopping by. For one, we've wanted to get to our destination, two, it looked small and older and we weren't sure about what was inside, and finally it's on a busy highway and we weren't sure how difficult it would be to... Took us at least 10 minutes to get a waitress to take our order. Then after that had to remind her to bring our drinks. Our BLT sandwiches had broken up almost burnt bacon pieces. I had asked for cheddar cheese which they forgot. Brought my sandwich back with processed American cheese slices on it. All in all we were... More

We have meant to stop here for years on our way to the coast or returning from the coast but never seemed to have time. Today, we made time. We stopped in just before it got busy for dinner. Service was quick and efficient. The menu really offered a lot of variety for as remote as this restaurant is. Food... More
