This was a return to trip to the area for us and we wanted to make sure we visited this restaurant. Food is excellent and so is the service and value. We were not disappointed.

One of the coziest restaurants I've been to, both the steaks and the shrimps are great, and so are the drinks. They have really set the bar high for a sea/tiki themed restaurant.

Do not make reservation thru Open Table for this restaurant, they WILL NOT honor them. Hostess completely unhelpful, did jot make any difference when I showed her our reservation confirmation. Sat us outside on a cold winter night even though several tables opened up inside while I was waiting. Again, do not book thru Open Table, reservations not honored.

We picked this place out amongst plenty of local competition at random and were not disappointed The decor is a little cluttered with lots of nautical ornaments and hundreds of fairy lights however the food is good We picked the 30 oz sirloin for two which was tasty and great value for money. It came with two sides and a... More

The first thing I noticed was that the staff was happy. I have worked the biz for a long time and you can totally tell when people are faking it and just pushing through a shift but they were genuine. The food was fast but not too fast to make me nervous. The bartender was great and cocktails were not... More

We went here with friends who have eaten here several times before. It has a funky atmosphere that is actually inviting. We were five people. Our server was friendly and helpful. I had the ahi tuna which I wanted lightly seared. Unfortunately, the portion was very thin and just searing it on both sides cooked it through. I found it... More

This is my go to place when I just want to chill and eat good food without having to dress up. It is the oldest restaurant in Santa Monica. They have a great happy hour with lots of sailor types at the bar, and lots of comfortable booths throughout. Sawdust on the floor and a nautical theme make you feel... More

It's a little cheezy, which makes it a little (or a lot) fantastic. Love the old school vibe, and the year round christmas lights. It's like a dive bar that serves good food, and it's always come as you are, just roll off the beach and order a steak or whatnot. Neighborhoody. Tourists please don't come here.

If you like quirky fun places with good American fare this is your spot! I believe its the oldest restaurant in Santa Monica. Loved it there. Good freshly prepared fish. The house salad was very good, one of the things they are famous for. I enjoyed it very much but maybe my expectations were too high....not sure if it deserves... More

The kind of restaurant that you will only find in the US; Trader's Vic interior meets porterhouse steaks meets naval memorabilia meets cheerful service. Well-cooked American food based on excellent produce, cheerful service, ambitious wine-list. In the middle of Main St, Santa Monica's (in my opinion) premier restaurant row.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
